Ferguson ... Fort Lauderdale ... Maybe We Should Go Through The Alphabet

Last edited Sat Mar 21, 2015, 09:43 AM - Edit history (1)

Imagine how many Fergusons we would find if the DOJ investigated every police department in every town and city in this country.

edit: more on this story

Four Lauderdale cops out after racist texts, video discovered

The group cellphone messages between the officers included racial, sexist and ethnically inappropriate images and texts, including disparaging remarks against Hispanics and gays. One such image appeared to be a snapshot taken from a TV showing a man wearing a Nazi uniform with swastikas. There was also a close-up of what appeared to be a black man’s mouth full of gold teeth.

Among the texts were:

Holding: “Id have that noose ready”

“The panty dropper had it’s first fail. This chick was high class cuban, nada impressed her. F------ cuban elite”

“I had a wet dream that you two found those two n------ in the VW and gave them the death penalty right there on the spot.”

Sousa: “Holdings we are coming and drinking all your beer and killing n------.”

Alvarez: “Jimmy what would big dad do to that n-----. Get that n----- out from under that wagon.”

Wells: “And that n----- lover in the wagon.”

Alvarez also produced a video - a mock movie trailer titled “The Hoods,” police said. The video showed images of President Barack Obama wearing a gold chain and gold tooth caps; someone wearing a Ku Klux Klansman’s hood; an African-American man being bitten by a police dog; a bloody scene and a wanted poster for “an escaped slave.”

By David Taintor

Three Fort Lauderdale, Florida, police officers were fired and one resigned over their involvement in a racially charged video and text messages, Police Chief Frank Adderley said at a press conference Friday.

Adderley called the cops’ behavior “inexcusable.” He said there was no criminal behavior found in an internal affairs investigation into the officers.

The racially charged content included photos of President Obama and other officers on the Fort Lauderdale police force, according to NBC affiliate WTVJ.

“I am very disappointed, disgusted and shocked by this incident,” Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler said at the news conference.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department has instituted a mandatory annual diversity class for cops on the force, according to WTVJ.

That's a sad truth. I know the DOJ has several investigations going on. Still not enough.

yep ... and we really need to reform the whole judicial and law enforcement system

of course, you say that, and those on the right scream that we live in a post-racial America and you're just playing the race card and that you just hate the police

(and they say these things while still portraying the president as a watermelon-eating Muslin Communist Dictator who hates Murica!)

How he didn't arrive with charges against Wilson will forever stain the injustice of a hands up murder. He's already regarded as a great AG and one mistake will not taint his legacy, but every black life counts. I hope he revisits before he leaves office.

yep ... I don't know any cities or towns that begin with Z, but I think we'd find enough cases just starting at A to make your obvious point.
