Sen. Franken to appear on Letterman next week (first since senator)

Hopefully, a sign of more to come. I miss Al going on talk shows and writing books.

We need his voice to be prominent.

When he was still 'comedian Al Franken,' Franken was a frequent guest on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

Once he became U.S. Sen. Al Franken, the appearances stopped.

But next Wednesday, Franken will be back on the air with Letterman to wish his friend adieu as he retires from his long-running talk show.

The two-term Democratic senator is expected to tape the show April 1, said Franken communications director Ed Shelleby. It will air that evening.

How did that happen?

Apropos of nothing, I turned on NPR today for the first time in ages, was immediately assaulted with Fresh Air talking about Ted Cruz running for president.
