Woman Grins with Pride after Setting Fire to Yoga Studio to ‘Get Rid of the Devil’s Temple’

“Most people can’t understand the smiling mug shot,” Nancy Duarte told local media from her jail cell. But there’s an obvious explanation. Duarte says she smiled in the photo to help let go of the anger that drove her to American Power Yoga with a baseball bat and can of gasoline. See, the smile did for her kinda what yoga is supposed to do for her.
In Duarte’s case, however, she said the yoga studio had brought her “so much pain and suffering” during an ongoing dispute with two men associated with the Dallas business. Duarte said the men sexually harassed her for years despite her rejections of both of them....
She told a TV station she waited until late Saturday, when no one would be at the studio, “just to set it on fire, just destroy it — get rid of the devil’s temple.” No injuries were reported in the fire, but several neighboring businesses were evacuated.
