1. I think the woman overemphasized her own moves, making it about *her*

dancing rather than the dog's.

In the famous video a few years ago that made dog dancing widely known, the *dog* is clearly the star of the performance.

2. but the difference here is that the border collie was dancining without

owner cue's - i.e. had musical cues - that is why the dog was the star. It did not need to watch the other dancer. It's timing was flawless.
