My wife and I went into this shop to get shirts for my parent's anniversary. We went in holding hands and the clerks gave us dirty looks the entire time. We didn't understand why; maybe they thought we were suspicious? I confronted one of the employees and they directed me to a sticker in the window. It had a pride flag on it and it basically meant gays weren't welcome. My wife and I were heartbroken; we just wanted shirts made! But we wasted a trip for nothing. Guess we'll get our shirts online next time. So sad about this treatment.
UPDATE: The owner has responded to a JMG reader. From the comments of this post, this is his message: "We recently posted five 3" stickers on the front entrance to our shop. Two of these stickers are negative and prohibitive in there message. We will not serve people that are foul-mouthed, nor will we serve people that flaunt their homosexual lifestyle in our place of business and/or request us to produce promotional products that do so. Matthew Lombard, Owner.

(65,616 posts)SO what will they do when a gay couple that believe Jesus Christ died for their sins walks into their store?
OR do the owners foolishly believe all gay people are also atheists?
I thought this law was about Religious Freedom?

(65,616 posts)I know it doesn't look that way if you just listen to the M$M, but it is true. Sounds like this company is discriminating against religious beliefs as well.
That means none of these denominations are welcomed into their establishment;
Affirming Pentecostal Church International
The Anthem Network
Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists
AXIOS - Eastern and Orthodox Gay and Lesbian Christians
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Community of Christ
Ecclesia Gnostica
Ecumenical Catholic Church
Ecumenical Catholic Communion
Episcopal Church (United States)
Evangelical Anglican Church In America
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada
The Evangelical Network
Friends General Conference
Friends of Jesus Fellowship
Global Alliance of Affirming Apostolic Pentecostals
Inclusive Orthodox Church
Metropolitan Community Church
Old Catholic Church
Presbyterian Church (USA)
Progressive Christian Alliance
Reformed Anglican Catholic Church
Restoration Church of Jesus Christ (Salt Lake City, Utah, USA) a Latter Day Saint denomination
United Church of Christ
United Church of Canada
Unity Church
I sure hope the owners realize that they are now discriminating against someone elses religious beliefs that ARE Christians.

(18,421 posts)Some people think their beliefs are the only way to go and they will stop at nothing to ensure that everyone will believe as they do. In reality everyone should just leave everyone's beliefs alone. A belief should be an internal construct not manifested on the public at large.
If you want to know what I think about the world, you will ask me.

(1,754 posts)It was in the news in Kentucky if not everywhere else. From what I can recall, the guy eventually took the stickers down but I don't think he actually changed his discriminatory policies.

Bigots. We need laws protecting people from this kind of bullshit, not laws protecting the bigotry they face.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
I used King James Version since that's probably what they know.
