She said it made them go broke once... why on earth would she want to go broke twice??

with likely the lowest net worth of any couple to do so since the Truman's and left it poor than nearly all except Truman and Carter. In Carter's case his business had been poorly run while he was President (it was in a blind trust during his presidency). In Clinton's case it was legal fees from the upteen investigations that yielded pretty much nothing.
