off the topic a little: Ever see the way Michelle Duggar looks at Jim Bob?

That is scary in of itself. I remember being forced to watch this woman talk about how a wife --When he is speaking should look at him as if he is the only important person in the world. That he is God's representative in the family and his words and Ideals are the most important thing to a wife.

I heard that years ago and it made me wonder if she is right in the head or brainwashed.

Just today I saw a snippet of the wife of the one that took advantage of his sisters and hurt them (sorry...it's always hard for me to say much less spell the R word), gazing at her husband when he was speaking. It was uncanny.

As shown in the season premiere of the Duggars’ TLC show 19 Kids & Counting, Michelle recently attended a conference where she spoke to a group of Christian women about the institution of marriage and the role of a wife. She provided a hand-out to the women in attendance that was titled “Seven Basic Needs of a Husband.” Here they are:

1.A husband needs a wife who respects him as a man: This one states that a woman destroys her husband’s manliness by “being financially independent; Love is killed by self-sufficiency.”
2.A husband needs a wife who accepts him as a leader and believes in his God-given responsibilities
3.A husband needs a wife who will continue to develop inward and outward beauty: Your hairstyle, for example, can show “obedience vs defiance” and “personal discipline vs inconsistency,” among many other things.

Perms are not necessarily the way to go. A good haircut can help more than a perm.

I can't stand preachers who think women should not cut their hair. I have to keep mine trimmed to above my shoulders or it gets completely unmanageable. I see women around here in the dollar store that are wearing long skirts, often made of jeans that are split down the legs with a patch in the middle, and long stringy hair with terrible split ends. They need a trim but wouldn't get it because they are obedient to stupid men.

All the girls perm their hair because apparently it's what some head of the quiver movement, Gothard, thinks is attractive. Oh yes, he is accused of molesting many women in his congregation.

For instance: the signs of emotional abuse include put downs, shaming, and guilt-tripping. Well, this is something my husband would never do … there really was no need since I was already fully aware of my inherently sinful nature, my “desperately wicked heart,” … He didn’t need to remind me that even my very best efforts were like filthy rags in comparison to God’s holiness.

Plus, I knew that as a woman, I was particularly susceptible to deception by Satan. How many times, when we were discussing an important decision, had my husband said to me, “What you are suggesting SOUNDS reasonable, but how do I know that Satan isn’t using you to deceive me?”

Well, according to the Bible, it was very likely that Satan WAS using me “And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through child-bearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. (1 Timothy 2:14-15… As a good Christian woman, the last thing I wanted was to be accused of having a “Jezebel Spirit”!! Jezebel is the bossy, bold and dominating woman, who ‘wears the pants’ in the family, and in the Bible account, things ended badly for her: “’Throw her down’Jehu said. So they threw her down and some of her blood spattered the wall and the horses as they trampled her underfoot.” (2 Kings 9:33)
