I have a serious question--Is TLC ran by or controled by fundies or nuts?

You have Pololiamy being shown as smoothing great; my 6 wives and sister wives.

You have fundie families like the Duggars having shows The latest:

Honestly I Never watch the channel. My wife will watch Who Do You Think You Are? She will watch the little couple once in a while but if it wasn't for Who Do You Think You Are? She would not turn that channel on.

It has a lot of stuff it pukes out.

Here is an article detailing the history of the channel...from 2012, but it goes all the way back to the beginning and details the downward slide...

http://www.businessinsider.com/history-of-tlc-from-learning-channel-to-honey-boo-boo-2012-11?op=1

Excerpt:

The Department of Health, Education, and Welfare along with NASA founded what was meant to be an informative and instructional network in 1972. The channel was to be distributed for free via a NASA satellite.

The network became privately acquired by the Appalachian Community Service Network in 1980 and was renamed "The Learning Channel."

The network featured adult education shows ("Learn to Read&quot , documentaries on nature, history ("Battles That Changed the World&quot , and science.

In 1991, Discovery bought the network for a reported $31.5 million a move which added more reality television shows to the mix.

****

Imagine if the same thing happened to PBS?? Taken over by a commercial entity??

I see that CNBC has already taken over the content of the Nightly Business News....worried about a slippery slope...

With the type of programing they have I find it apparent that whoever controls the programing is a female hater. Whether they're a religious fundie or whatever I don't really think is material. They most assuredly despise women and believe that females should be subjugated and used as chattel for whatever males desire to do with them - females are things, not people. It's about as obvious as can be with the type of programing the channel promotes.

Have men become so weak and/or scared that they have to push this shit on to the air waves?
