Trash-talking Hillary on this board makes me more likely to vote for Hillary.

I was definitely leaning Bernie. The full-on Hate-Hillary slime-spew is changing that, post by post. I'm sure there are many others like me; and frankly, if I saw a tumult of anti-Bernie posts it would probably have the opposite effect.

A poster questioned me -- a post on an anonymous message board would have such power? -- implying that I must be weak-minded, or stupid, or a hidden Bernie-hater. But the posters currently dominating this board with acidic anti-Hillary screeds are not anonymous to me; they are progressives I have seen post before, and whom I generally respect.

There's some basic psychology at work here -- I don't want to see any Democratic candidate trashed, period. The one-upsmanship, the sneering snark, the piling-on -- WTF? Some people seem to be pushing the meme that Hillary is Satan -- 'She drinks milk! She's a pawn of Big Dairy!' -- over and over and over. Someone thinks Hillary might be a pawn of the Family -- yeah, Hippie Hil's whole goal is to spread Crypto-Fascist control, she's just pretending to be liberal -- I'm sorry, but that's just Lying Fucking Bullshit.

Really, is this all just pro-Hillary Black Ops? 'Cause I was voting for Bernie. The slew of Full On Bullshit is skewing me Hillary. Fucking ridiculous behavior from otherwise intelligent progressives. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Perhaps the excitement of having Bernie in the primaries is driving you into primal tribe-exclusion behavior or something.

If Bernie himself was acting anything like this, I'd stop listening to a single thing he said. However, he's always right, he's awesome, he's the best candidate IMO -- but I don't want to hear Slime, not from anybody, not about any Democratic Candidate, period. Everything I know about both Hillary and Barack tells me I don't agree with many things they believe in; still, I trust that they are civil servants, and have at their core a basic sense of what is best about this seemingly-cursed nation. Bernie would say the same thing.

Association games and barely-based accusations of Pawn-control are not just a logical fallacy -- they're a tactic that demeans the candidate they are purportedly intended to support.

Just saying. Bernie Sanders is a better person than some of his Number One fans are.

1. I can see how discussion of policy might make a Hillary supporter itchy.

Face it. Bernie supporters just don't have what it takes to post OPs tying another candidate to completely unrelated racist pictures and accusations of writing rape fantasy porn.

50. Don't forget Bernie is racist

He didn't trot out a token black family to show he wasn't at his announcement speech. He must be homophobic too for not trotting out a gay couple like Hillary did.

I personally can't speak for black people, but I certainly can speak for gay ones. The stereotyping NEEDS TO STOP. We're not Republicans, we're f*cking Democrats. Why are we race baiting each other??

many hillary supporters you are a hater. I was told today that I was 'shooting my mouth off'. I wish I had the vocabulary to express how angry I still am after several hours between reading that said to me here and now. This sword cuts both ways.

5. This is the same thing that happened with Ron Paul...

...the online supporters overwhelmed the Internet and made it look like Paul was a prohibitive favorite. But in reality, there weren't enough Americans willing to vote for a nutty old man speaking populism - especially after the media got ahold of him.

Look, enjoy the little flirt. Just make sure you register to vote so that we have you in line when it's time to cast your vote for the actual nominee. We're going to need everyone to fall in line and get behind the first woman president in our history. We cant have a repeat of Nader.

A Jury voted 4-3 to hide this post on Thu May 28, 2015, 07:37 AM. Reason: This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate

All of my critiques of her are either policy related or where she gets her campaign funding. I have trouble believing that someone that cashes Wall Street's checks on Tuesday are going to do a good job of regulating them and reining them in on Thursday.

But personally I have cut back on talking about your candidate. She already gets too much press and it is better for my blood pressure to just talk positively about what Bernie stands for.

This is Democratic Underground, and I have loved it and leaned from it for a long, long time.

Plenty of hard facts on this board to help me pick my candidate. My point is that quasi-baseless personal assaults on Hillary posted by certain Bernie supporters serve Hillary, not Bernie.

I believe you have entirely missed my point.

And please note also that there's more than enough rudeness to go around. Nobody should be sliming anybody, but it always happens during primary season because people identify too closely with their chosen candidate. "You insult my candidate, you insult ME! So YOU suck, and therefore your candidate sucks because a good candidate wouldn't have assholes supporting him/her!" A few childish or overzealous fans shouldn't determine anybody's vote; unfortunately we always notice the bad behavior of some and don't notice so much the rational, polite behavior of the majority.

Bernie's interviews with Randi Rhodes sold me on Bernie. Not hating Hillary is not the same as not being a Bernie supporter. I don't get the intense vitriol for Clinton. Perhaps I'm not pure enough?

She became a left wing caricature of Ann Coulter.

That was back in 08 I believe. Never listened to her after that and he career took a nose dive after the election. She basically self immolated over Hillary.

Polarization doesn't serve Bernie, it serves Hillary. And maybe some of your wicked inner demons.

It's not transparent at all. You are dead wrong, and proving my point. Turning Bernie's candidacy into a purity test is STUPID. He needs a big tent.

Do you not want him to win? Do you think making dickish comments and excluding people is the key to his success?

He doesn't. Hillary has numbers; Bernie has to attract people away from her. Being vile and mean is not the tactic here, Puglover.

Unless you're up to something else. You know, this post has revealed much to me -- many Bernie supporters are thoughtful and intelligent, and many are complete assholes. Not that it should matter to me; but it does, and to other moderates leaning Bernie.

119. This is not the Internet.

This is the Democratic Underground. It counts. It means something to me. I learn. I grow. It has changed me in many ways. I respect it, even if you don't.

My point was that Bernie is clearly choosing not to go negative; he and Hillary are friends. Vitriolic assignations of dire intent on her part based on logical assumptions I do not buy are not 'policy' debates. Bernie would not support these allegations; he sticks to the facts. Going negative would be mistake for him, he knows it. All this Hillary-hatred serves Hillary, that is my point.

You know, a lot of knee-jerk bile being spewed at me for this post. I love Bernie, I just don't hate Hillary, and so I must be vilified. Makes me wonder what the baser motivations of my fellow Bernie-supporters are -- it all smacks of primal tribe-exclusion.

I'll probably vote for Bernie anyway, because I choose to. But Hillary-hatred is a thing that will doom his campaign if it gets meme-legs. Mock me if you want, but this is Politics 101. I want him to win, but there is a perverse psychological effect at work here -- I am repelled by mean-mouthed holier-than-thous, and they seem to be swarming lately, all on the 'side of Bernie'.

I don't think you understood the point of my post at all. Maybe read it again.

What crap. You never were leaning toward Bernie. If you were actually interested in Bernie's message, you would listen to what he is saying, rather than what anonymous posters on a partisan Internet message board are saying.

I certainly don't vote for someone based on what anonymous posters on an Internet discussion board say. I vote for someone based on how close they reflect my own beliefs and desires. Your story sounds contrived and deserves the derision that it gets.

Tue Jun 2, 2015, 04:30 PM

216. No no no no.

I make the point to attempt some call for civil discourse, ESPECIALLY from Bernie supporters, from whom I expected better. Bernie knows that this kind of divisive rhetoric will polarize and insure Hillary's victory, and this forum is an important microcosm of what's going to happen nationwide.

Bernie would tell the commenters on this thread to back off and behave. Purity tests and paranoia are not the path. Ascribing devious motives and hurtful intent to someone pointing out that flame-wars serve no one but Scott Walker is a major FAIL. I am up to nothing but asking for civil discourse, ESPECIALLY from the best candidate, who may yet draw enough moderates to win this thing -- unless his 'supporters' turn on them, which they have in this thread.

The dialogue matters. This board matters. Human perception matters. To say otherwise is blithering idiocy.

12. Good for you.

Sorry that you missed over two years of hostility, spite, threats, rage, and bile spewed at any poster on this board who identifies as left, or ever dared to say "I'd rather have a different candidate than Clinton." Forgive us if we're a bit snappish, when day after day we see accusations that a candidate we support is hysterical racist gun nut who is unelectable because he's Jewish and doesn't have his lips wrapped around some semi-floppy Koch. We might be a little on edge due to the constant harassment by sock puppets, trolls and repeatedly-banned morons who throw that stupid libertarian recruitment Square at us. Of course after seeing people who hoped for Warren to run being labeled "rapists," after watching people who don't want weddigns to be blown up by robots labeled "haters," and after seeing fake supporters of women and POC happily cheer those peoples' deaths so long as a certain candidate can claim some responsibility for it, we might be just a little edgy.

I am sorry that we do not meet your standards for supporters of a candidate you would support. i am certain you will find that the clinton supporters meet your expectations of saintliness, however. Happy days to you, sir.

You know, I didn't see the anti-Bernie posts that have apparently sent this place over the fucking edge. I rec positive news for any Democratic candidate, and I'll likely vote for Bernie no matter what. Attempting to divine my politics by my recommends is foolish and small-minded, and I can tell you that you are wrong.

I stopped recommending for Bernie and started recommending for Hillary when I began to see posts suggesting that Hillary is the servant of Satan. My post was an attempt to point out the critical psychology behind this admittedly non-logical tendency of mine -- Bernie has said emphatically that he's not going to run a negative campaign against Hillary, that they are in fact friends.

Gotta say, you hurt my feelings pretty bad there. Was that your intent? You succeeded. Great job. So wise and thoughtful.

It is what it is.

eta: there was a cowardly alert based on complete lie which resulted in a hidden post above.

Some people have a real problem when the truth is revealed. This "host's" behavior in this thread and many others shows that she has absolutely no business sitting it judgement of DU'ers...none. It's bad form, and I'll continue to call it out when it happens.

And violet, lol... stalking my ass. Your lying alert was one of the most blatent abuses as I've ever seen here. I haven't had word one with any host, I assumed that this thread had an SOP alert up, and apparently I was right. Coming from the cheif host of the troll protection program, I have to laugh at your attempt at righteous indignation here. Please do alert this one too, as I'm sure you rolled the dice with each of my posts in this thread.

What a pair of backbiting
phonies.

Like the OP said.. "If Bernie himself was acting anything like this, I'd stop listening to a single thing he said."

147. Bad form? Autumn's a really good host...

Seeing yr so interested in the host forum and what Autumn does in there, Autumn abstained from voting. Many hosts do that if they've participated in the thread that's alerted on. If you think that's bad form, tough shit. If yr wanting so badly to talk about what goes on in the hosts forum how about you volunteer to be a host and see for yrself? What you'll find may not be to yr liking because the hosts who participate are all professional and even though I know from reading some of these threads some of them are partisan about this or that candidate, they all act objectively in the hosts forum and leave their partisanship at the door.

Having said that, if a host who participates in that forum is gossiping with you about other hosts and hosting issues, knowing that you pop up in threads having a go at hosts, I'll lose a fair bit of respect for them....

159. That's right. Gossiping...

Unless yr just making up knowing what happens in the hosts forum, which wouldn't surprise me. Yr carrying on about bad form? Like I said, many hosts abstain from voting on an alerted OP if they've already posted in the thread, and there's no bad form at all about it. Want to go all super duper fussy about anything else host related?

So, instead of slagging off hosts like you do, why don't you sign up to be one? That way you'll find out that all of us who are active hosts do act objectively and fairly. If you have any complaints or questions, which I suspect you don't, you can always go to Skinner about it. He's over in ATA...

And you got an opinion from someone who's actually in the hosts forum and sees what goes on, as opposed to yr opinion which is based on nothing but some weird dislike thing you've got going. That's the thing when you have opinions. Others who do know what goes on also have opinions and get to express them...

160. Geeze

I WAS one, Violet. Of course I haven't been a perpetual host all this time, but I've been there done that. Saw it all first hand, and when there was ever any questionable behavior, there always seemed to be a common denominator.

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that I'm somehow communicating with another host, but I find it interesting that the two of you would jump to that conclusion.

IMO...when "hosts" REPEATEDLY find themselves in the middle of nasty shitstorms, (or instigating such) it's bad form. Period. There is a pattern with this one, I've seen it more than a few times over, and I said so right here. I will continue to say so right here if I want to, and if YOU don't like it take it to Skinner your damn self.

161. Yet here you are talking about the current hosting situation...

Which you obviously know nothing of. That 'common denominator' thing you claim to have seen isn't true either. In my times hosting I've only ever seen three hosts abuse their position and Skinner booted two of them from hosting and nuked the other*. So the only common denominator is that if a host abuses the system Skinner gets rid of them.

Here's a suggestion if you don't want people to get the idea that yr communicating with another host (btw, there's nothing wrong if you are, but then using it against another host would be really bad form). Don't jump into threads carrying on at a DUer you don't like who is a host about how they handled the alert on the thread they're posting in. I'm not sure why you even brought that up. It was just kind of weird and very random.

Well, I don't recall saying you couldn't say what you want. I just made a suggestion that someone who had genuine concerns or questions would have taken. You can continue to say whatever you want to and I'll be right here to tell you yr wrong and explain why yr wrong. It's pretty awesome how that works

But who did immediately come out on the attack against HRC?

None other than Saint Rand. But that is the GOP's stock in trade, dissing Democrats in every concievable manner. Give it no heed, just because they own the media, they don't own the country, or the votes.

And I agree about trashing the Democratic Party non-stop, if a person is that disgusted, they've already left for what they see as greener pastures. Their opinion on what they left is irrevelant.

31. Trash, garbage, or refuse

When people get behind a candidate, they sometimes get a little too excited. If anybody says anything negative about their candidate, they get very defensive, sometimes firing back with really inappropriate stuff. All the candidates have problems, but Democrats should be careful to point out these problems in a way that doesn't feed into the Republican BS machine. If you want to criticize Clinton's handling of the Benghazi incident, you could say, "Hillary Clinton had trouble managing information during the Benghazi crisis." Or you could say, "Hillary Clinton lied about people as they were dying." Disregarding the fact that one statement is probably untrue, which one would you attribute to a sane, rational person who is control of his or her emotions? If you want to think of it another way, which statement would be more likely to come from a Republican nut job? We need to think about such things when we feel like firing a volley at the opponent.

It's a matter of opinion. You don't have to look very far to find people who believe Clinton should have done a better job verifying information before releasing it. I happen to think she did a reasonable job, considering the circumstances, but I would not question a person's sanity for merely suggesting the State Department could have done a better job analyzing and describing the situation.

52. Here is the quandry.

I am a Bernie Sanders supporter.

I am opposed to Hillary as our candidate.

Why? I have a number of reasons. Some have to do with her personality, that is how she presents and comes across as a candidate. I don't think she is effective in many respects.

But setting that aside, because I can understand that sounds personal, here is one of the things that I and Elizabeth Warren criticize in her voting record: She voted for the 2005 revision of the Bankruptcy Law that affects individuals. One of the changes that law made was to make it so that virtually all, not just the federal government, but virtually all student debt cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.

That means that when students and their parents take on student debt and then can't make the payments, they can't go to a bankruptcy court and obtain forgiveness for their debt. They are indebted and only in certain unusual circumstances can obtain a release from their indebtedness.

Now, Donald Trump or any other businessman can form a corporation, run up the bills, or even buy an existing corporation and empty its bank accounts and then rush off to bankruptcy court and get some kind of relief perhaps total forgiveness for that debt.

Elizabeth Warren did not want that change in the Bankruptcy Law. Why did Hillary Clinton vote for it? It is extremely unfair to young people from families that cannot pay for their education out of pocket.

That's just one example of the poor judgment of Hillary Clinton, of her demonstration of more concern for the banks (who were at that time the primary lenders of the non-government student loans) than for graduates from our universities and colleges.

That's just one example of her many "mistakes," mistakes derived from skewed values.

I have one thing to say about that Bankruptcy revision. John Edwards, the man who told us about the Two Americas and who cared about economic justice more than any candidate prior to Sanders, also voted for it. Why they fell for the Republican pressure to pass it I do not know. But it was a huge mistake.

Those of us who criticize Hillary are not just being mean. It is about her judgment, the many mistakes she made in her relatively short career and questions about her ultimate electability -- that is whether her personality will really get her elected once voters meet her.

I can understand the OP's point. There is a lot of trash talk going on, from both sides. It seems like more from the Bernie supporters (that's just my perception), and it is definitely mean. What you posted was not, and I really appreciate the information you provided.

144. I don't think Hillary is a member of the Family.

She has not said that she opposes the Keystone pipeline. If she did oppose it, I expect her to tell us her point of view.

She is wealthy. I don't think she is a Kochbot.

I don't think Benghazi was her fault although I do wonder why our ambassador was meeting with the ambassador from Turkey in Benghazi rather than in Tripoli. the

My grounds for opposing Hillary as a candidate are her personality as a candidate (not as a person) and her failure to show good judgment in past decisions in Congress as well as the fact that if she counts her time in the Clinton White House as experience, then in my view she has to take responsibility for the many errors that Bill Clinton made during those years including the repeal of Glass-Steagall, changes to welfare, the reappointment of Greenspan to the Fed, the Telecommunications Act which has resulted in a few companies owning great shares of our communications sector, the Defense of Marriage Act and many other terrible pieces of legislation that Bill Clinton signed.

Could you please define "trash-talk."

Saying 'they started it' doesn't validate the bile on this thread.

Have you considered that paid trolls are fanning the flames on both sides for the purpose of damaging either candidate in the general? I have considered it, and I think there's some evidence for it.

I'm glad you don't think Hillary is a member of the Family, but others with Bernie as their avatar do, and are pushing that meme. It hurts Bernie, just like litmus-testing for moderacy. I love Bernie, but unless I hate Hillary, I going to get flamed for it and accused of being a Hillary-bot, which I ain't, buddy, I just ain't.

This is what it is, I've seen it before, I'll see it again, but I hate to see it defining Bernie on this board.

I like Clinton and Sanders. I support HTC in the primary, but any Democrat is always better than any Republican...always.

The Democratic nominee gets my vote in the general!

I think we have a lot of people now visiting this board who don't really like any of the candidates running for the Dem nom. That's what is causing most of the hate and discontent.

88. I care about the Democratic Underground.

I think it's an important group of people. I learn a great deal here. I listen. It changes me.

I've been a Bernie Sanders supporter since he started doing regular interviews with Randi Rhodes. He's obviously a great candidate. I think he could win; he seems to appeal to older cloth-coat conservatives who appreciate plain speech.

But read the comments on this thread. Pure bile. And maybe it is just from Sanders supporters who are full of bile, and not from a larger group of Sanders supporters like myself who don't hate Hillary.

Whenever I see progressive 'cleansing' I immediately suspect right-wing trolls or people working out deeper life issues with politics. It makes me hang my head, because an incoherent, splintered left leads to fucking awful things. I'm certain someone will immediately respond with 'a corporate left leads to fucking awful things', and that is true to my ears -- but if the only True Left is a tiny cadre of bitter, venomous banishers then I get stuck with the corporate Left, because that's all that's left.

I lived through Nixon. I lived through Reagan. I remember being mocked at a party in 2000 for wearing a Gore t-shirt by Green Naderites who insisted that GW Bush was exactly the same as Al Gore.

There are some who will still insist such a thing. It is an unhistorical opinion, however. Al Gore was a better person and would have been a better leader, and that's not so much conjecture as common sense backed with a lot of numbers.

Watching it happen all over again this season -- the vitriol thrown back and forth, the scorn, the absoluteness of it all, the permanent scars, as if we are not brothers and sisters at all, but scheming strangers -- it's disheartening. I'll probably take a break for awhile, but I wanted to express an opinion. The comments validate my conclusions succinctly.

Trash the threads, ignore people, whatever you have to do to be able to learn enough to make your comfortable decision but please do not vote depending on whose supporters pissed you off the most.

110. Here's my two cents.

If you are sincere, I believe this is what you are observe.

A very vocal minority of Clinton supports take every opportunity to attack Sanders and his supporters. They have from day one. Hell, these are the same asshats that call liberals 'far left', 'libtards', 'unicorn lovers'. etc. etc. etc. They post gossip, lies, distortions, accuse POC who support Sanders of being racist, etc. etc. etc.

One such example this evening is another post inferring Sanders wrote 'rape fantasies' in the early 1970's.

I hate that shit. I call it out. I push back against that and those people. Don't confuse me calling out a few wankers who just happen to be Clinton supporters with trash talking Clinton when I am giving legitimate opinions and facts about her stated policies, positions, etc.

It's been made clear to me on this thread that unless I hate Hillary, I am a Hillary troll. I believe that kind of divide and condemn crap hurts Bernie's cause, and that he would be the first to say so.

"So what was the point of the OP? You want internet cred from Hillary supporters or what?"

I want Bernie's supporters on DU to reflect the utterly reasonable and competent nature of the man himself, and to refrain from the goddamned litmus tests that immediately polarize and isolate moderates away from him. The very nature of your challenge belies a need to shame and exclude. I don't give a fuck what Hillary supporters think of me. I am calling for reasonable, civil discourse, and getting shite flung in my face for saying so.

I made my point, and most of the comments from poster with Bernie's picture as their avatar are proving my point. You want to slander and accuse and litmus-test, fine. Welcome to Hillary.

You know, when my avatar Abbie Hoffman endorsed George McGovern he was vilified for it by a similar crew of purists. I think it's foolish, and that is the point of my post.

I'm probably going to vote for Bernie in spite of the vitriol, because part of me thinks it's all right-wing rat-fucking designed to divide and destroy the party. A few trolls on either side starting a flame war that fulfills their purpose of damaging both candidates. Is this possibility not clear to you?

That anyone would try to accuse me of being a paid troll or phony whatever. Jesus fuck, the primary season is just starting and people are LIVID and nasty if you question anything.

Discussing his lack of outreach on racial
issues that cannot be tied to his economic issues, they call you a troll and insist you're insinuating Sanders is a racist. Yet the very same people are in his group writing OPs agreeing he has an "optics" problem while insisting anyone else saying the same fucking thing in GD is a total troll. So much for their integrity.

I have never seen such paranoia and hatred directed toward long time DUers, it's fucking crazy. They will succeed in turning some good activists off, and most of us will just disregard whatever the unhinged haters say. It really has nothing to do wth Sanders and more with the foolish notion that trashing people here is a sort of effective political advocacy. Is guess they've never done any advocacy, because that involves winning people over and only a few quieter ones are courageous enough to admit they do need to win over voters.

The point of the post is not that I am easily confused. It is that vitriol repels.

Do you understand that?

Vitriol serves neither Bernie nor Hillary, who are friends; it serves no one except Scott Walker.

Do you understand what I'm saying, and do you have a comment relevant to that conclusion?

Or are you just kinda being mean without thinking about it? 'Cause that's what it sounds like.

My wife usually makes up my mind for me, actually. She's wicked smart. And she's not big on Hillary. But she keeps it rational and policy-oriented, and does not devolve to primate shite-throwing.

Some have also come back time after time with the same Clinton Foundations smack talk from Gowdy that has proven absolutely nothing except the fact some posters lack critical thinking skills. From claiming Clinton wants to privatize social security, to lying about Blumenthal, to raving about an Andrew Malcolm article. What they are is obvious. Each one of them increases Clintons favorability. It is why I don't even correct one of our west coasters anymore. From their own threads it is becoming clear that others, even supporters of other candidates, are catching on to the pattern.

Sweet. Let's just splinter up and let them win, then. Good on you for being so pure.

'Burn the earth, but I got my ya-yas out.' Careless, short-sighted, and not in Bernie's interest, but great sound bite, bro!

203. No, the entire premise is so fucking stupid.

So what if steel yourself and make decisions based on a small anonymous discussion site? It is insignificant and meaningless. Vote for who you want. I simply don't believe that you or anyone else makes that decision in reaction to criticism on a political board.

217. Your disbelief does not change the fact that civil discourse is more productive.

And responding to an honest opinion with nothing but snark is counterproductive.

197. Nope, don't want any of that crap from either side.

Some people feed off it; I think it's ugly, divisive, and stupid.

Bernie can answer those questions, I think, pretty concisely, without the flames and the accusations of treachery.

I hadn't seen that thread you posted. Bernie's answered all of those questions already, actually, in his series of interviews with Randi Rhodes. Heard any of those? They're great.

205. That was my point ...

that you will see that kind of stuff from various people & they do it against Bernie as well. And they will start doing it against Martin O'Malley. Believe me, I doubt some of these folks are even dems. Political season gets pretty ugly - especially during the primaries.

172. Give me a break

The vitriol on the board goes both ways and don't try to pretend it doesn't (not that it makes it right). I've tried a few times to intervene on both sides. As much as the Hillary Clinton supporters whine about her being attacked, but they don't give a fucking shit about civility. Their only purpose is to hold their noses high into the air and proclaim that Hillary has been crowned. Yes, I'm talking about her supporters NOT her.

The Hillary Clinton supporters march around demanding loyalty oaths. Really you think that is not some full on hate? Claiming that Sanders doesn't care about social issues or minorities. I've got plenty of other examples if you want them.

No, please go back to putting your hands over your ears and screaming "lah lah lah" like all the other ones". You are where you belong.

But you continue to use whatever chuckleheaded argument you want to justify your decision.

You're the greatest of the all-time greats. But I'm confused by your graph -- what do you mean? That all of this noise and fury does not hurt the general cause?

If you say it, I'm listening.

250. i did not say it, but think it is well stated:

So far, Hillary Clinton seems to be the only candidate in the race that recognizes the importance of the Obama coalition. But in 2008 they rejected her candidacy in favor of Obama and still might be up for grabs if someone would notice. Absent that, Clinton’s appeal to establishment Democrats combined with her outreach to the Obama coalition will likely make her unbeatable.

187. I am a fan of both and would cheerily vote for either in the general

I hate to see either unfairly criticized. If one doesn't know what fair criticism is then you're who I'm talking about. Now a person is known by the company he keeps and in politics this applies to those that support you. So I understand your umbrage. You may want to wait until the primary debates and try to ignore anyone who cannot make a cogent argument.

188. It predates Bernie.

Hillary hatred here was loud & strong long before Bernie appeared on the scene. Remember the draft Elizabeth Warren phase? Even before that there were those who said they wouldn't vote if Hillary was the nominee. Of course, not all Bernie supporters are of this ilk, but those of the original anti- Hillary groups have rallied around him now. It's within this tent that we'll find those who would rather the Republicans win than their arch-enemy, Hillary.

the dismissing of bernie and bashing of his supporters makes me defente to stay home if he's not the nominee come november 2016.

viewing his record vs hers and voting for her means you were never really a fan of his.

195. I did not say I was voting for Hillary.

I said the baseless invective and divisive rhetoric was pushing me toward her. I'll be voting for Bernie in spite of it. I think it's stupid and self-defeating, and probably right-wing-troll-prompted.

Flaming witch-hunt language doesn't serve either candidate.

You're actually going to stay home and not vote for the Democratic nominee? That's your right. I wouldn't want that blood on my hands. Scott Walker intends to murder the human race.

But stay pure, stay pure, all the way down.

251. Maybe when I was a newbie to the WWW, but nothing and nobody on this forum will influence me

or who I vote for in the primaries. There are too many 'characters' here that are pushing their own agenda all day long, for me to really take some of them seriously.

Now I mostly just listen, but nobody really has that much affect on me here or anywhere on the WWW - in many ways I can tell some use it as mindless entertainment when they are bored with RL.

Those that do make me change my mind on issues do come along, but I rarely 'let someone make up my mind for me' in RL...so it ain't about to happen in the VW either lol.
