I just picked up on the whole Tim Tebow thing

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by SidDithers (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Till today, I thought of Tim Tebow as just another mediocre, but incredibly lucky, quarterback. The whole religious fanatic/right-winger thing took a while to sink in.

What do people think? Is Tebow's ostentatious religiosity sincere? Is it brand-building behavior? A little of both? Should anybody really care?

but I find the whole Tebow religion thing to be incredibly obnoxious. Why can't he keep his religion to himself?

He has a mediocre arm but he can scramble which is exactly the quality you need to have as a Bronco QB because their line is sub par.

As for his "religiousness", I don't care as long as it doesn't affect the game.

I'd suggest either the Lounge or possibly the Religion forum.

I wouldn't lock this - it's a bit sporty and a bit religiony and completely current.

They even included a bone-headed play by the opposing team's veteran running back in the last seconds of the game that helped Tebow win. The game's announcers were almost speechless at the series of events that led to Tebow's team turning certain defeat into another win. They interviewed him after the game and he once again invoked God. He seemed very sincere, refusing to take any credit for the win, rendering himself even more holy. This last game in particular is probably making a lot of fundies wonder if Tebow is going to start walking on water and then turning it into wine.

Members have alerted and suggested this is off-topic in GD. I tend to agree with them here.

Threads about Tebow should probably go into Sports.

If the thread is primarily about his faith, maybe Religion would be a better choice.

Thanks for understanding.
