Speaking of 2016, let's have a "what-if" exercise

For the purposes of discussion, let's pretend our next president has a Congress that will work with him or her to achieve whatever he or she wants to do. This is a two-parter.

Part 1: If a person running on the Democratic ticket wins the election, what is the first thing you'd like them to do?

Part 2: If a person running on the Republican ticket wins, what is the first thing you expect them to do?

My answers first:
Part 1: $1 trillion in infrastructure spending - specifically, roads, bridges, ocean ports and airports - without one cent in tax reduction.
Part 2: National right-to-work law.

"Nationwide right to get fucked by a nameless corporation for free bill" would have been more accurate, but they don't name bills that.

3. My apologies. I read the post too quickly, esp. since I am sleepy.

I mistakenly thought your second answer was one of YOUR top two priorities for a new President. I will edit while I blush.

Now that you're here...what abuse do you think the GOP will inflict on America if they get the White House again?

5. I don't need to imagine horrors. Real life affords me all I can handle and then some.

I'm not sure it's useful, either. In 1999, who imagined going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Abu Ghraib, increasing the ranks of terrorist groups, increasing the numbers of terrorist groups, etc. When FDR first ran, who imagined World War II the holocaust would make the Depression look good?

FYI the only movies I pay to see anymore are comedies. We don't get enough of that in real life. I figure I don't need to pay for drama and sadness, when RL provides so much for free. So, not wanting to borrow any from the future is consistent.

Part two I think you are right they would do that. More people will die because of them and the wealth gap will widen all the while they will tell people they are not working hard enough. Taxes for the poor will go up. Fees for services will go up. Nothing will be done to address climate change. People will become more aggressive and just meaner in general. 2020 will not come soon enough, but when it does the Republican party will be toast.
