(6,107 posts)What is your definition of support?
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)No Dem or Gop nominee has ever won 100 percent.
They usually get between 90 to 94 percent.

(41,831 posts)Well we all know what Wall Street thinks of Bernie. And as for NBC... I am sure the major networks all have their chosen candidates already.

(20,453 posts)I find it interesting that this poll is flanked by the WSJ as a strong candidate is emerging now.
I'd also think that the numbers would be interesting IF there WERE large numbers of primary voters showing up at the polls.
This means the work goes on to get the registration out and follow up with getting the vote out. I don't discount that Sanders is emerging at a rate unseen before, and that worries a lot of people on Wall Street.

(20,453 posts)He (Barack Obama) was emerging as a strong candidate, and regardless of how or who helped him, he pulled it off. Obama couldn't possibly be the candidate Bernie Sanders is. Perhaps you have yet to realize it, or maybe you'd just prefer to listen to what worked then, so the same outcome is predictable now. I beg to differ. There are a lot of turning points now. Remember when the last economic bubble burst?
We are seeing such a strong candidate who connects with the real middle and working class emerging like no one has in a long, long time (FDR). It is not a coincidence that the Wall Street Journal is showing this poll. We are in big trouble and the ideas of the last election are not going to work for a candidate running against Bernie Sanders.

(7,231 posts)But the FDR voters are no as monolythic a voters bloc as they once were. The demographic composition of the USA has changed significantly since those days.

(43,867 posts)It's real support, for sure, but that segment is only so big. We've seen it with Bill Bradley in 2000, for example. Bradley supporters crowed early on how they were going to knock Gore off.
