"When a true genius appears in the world…"

4. It must be extremely difficult for any true genius to be "well adjusted."
How isolated a genius must feel...understanding things that others do not...unable to communicate with peers of lesser intelligence, which would be most everyone else...called crazy because others don't understand what he or she is talking about...called stupid because he or she is different...and much more.

6. I read something by Poe once where he said that
all the great minds of history were probably relegated to the fate you mention. And that as much as we praise and admire the works of the great minds of this world we would do better to search out the works of those who were not well known and who perhaps suffered needlessly at the hands of ignorance. Or something along those lines. Always kinda stuck with me.

7. That's what is great about DU/internet forums
We all have great thoughts and this media makes it possible to discuss those thoughts and ideas. Poe would've loved this, eh?

10. One thing I love about DU:
A whole lot of geniuses find their way here, and life becomes good again.

11. Yeah. And, sadly, I'm sure there are
a lot of people at genius level who don't know it and wouldn't believe it if you told them.

9. Been there
I once considered jamming a pencil in my nose in middle school.Everyone there wanted to talk about tv shows and how cute so and so was.I felt so far from them and I was bullied bad,but sometimes it is a curse to be over intelligent. It sucks when no one understands.
