And then the clown car had 17: Former VA Gov James Gilmore (R) announces

http://www.mtv.com/news/2227715/jim-gilmore-president-republican-17-virginia

James “Jim” Gilmore, former governor of Virginia, is running for president. Gilmore joins 16 other presidential hopefuls vying for the Republican party’s nomination for 2016. Although his formal announcement is planned for sometime next week, right before the first Republican debate (Aug. 6), Gilmore has already filed all his paperwork to make his candidacy official.

Gilmore said he believes that the 2016 race is “running differently than previous presidential races,” with no real front-runner on the GOP side just yet –and that’s why he thinks he has a real shot. “The difference is with many, many candidates in there, there is room to have your voice heard,” he said.

A small one, but what the heck...

I can't wait to see the dance line these candidates form. 1-2-3-KICK!

Gilmore is the President & CEO of the Free Congress Foundation [2], a conservative think tank which was founded by Paul Weyrich.

Gilmore has also served as Chairman of the National Council on Readiness & Preparedness, a homeland security program focused on community involvement and public/private partnerships.[27] He is also President of USA Secure, a non-profit homeland security think tank based in Washington, D.C.[28]

He is also on the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association and is a political commentator on Fox News.

I think I will pass.
