Donald Trump Says He Wants to Raise Taxes on Himself

Donald Trump Says He Wants to Raise Taxes on Himself

Republican front-runner Donald Trump began to flesh out his economic vision for America, and it includes raising taxes on the wealthy.

Trump said during a Wednesday interview on Bloomberg's With All Due Respect that he would like to change the tax code.

"I would change it. I would simplify it," Trump told hosts Mark Halperin and John Heilemann from the lobby of Trump Tower on New York's 5th Ave. Specifically, Trump targeted hedge fund profits, which are currently taxed at a lower rate than regular income.

This blowhard will say anything to get elected. He is beyond narcissistic, he's a megalomaniac.

2. Truth or not I find it too hard to take it seriously when taken in

with the balance of his statements. He's not putting out a policy position, I believe he is just trying to sweep in more supporters, particularly the indies and center-left.

Someone who says whatever it takes to get elected isn't putting forth a platform, they're selling a bill of goods. he just wants power and the fact he wants it so bad is all the warning we should need to know he is the last to be trusted with power.

5. what he said though

will NOT help him to win the Republican primary - which is his first major hurdle. A hurdle I do not believe he will pass.

He's still weaseling around too - Republicans have been calling for "simplify the tax code" for years. All their proposals for simplification always involve - lower taxes for the rich. Trump also says he wants to cut taxes for "the middle class". Even when Democrats say that, their proposals always favor the rich. For a politician making $170,000 a year, "middle class" tends to mean, families making between $100,000 and $500,000 a year. Yep, 80th to 99th percentile is their idea of "middle".

6. I sense "flat tax" coming on

Simplify it by making it less fair and making the poor pay more. Sure, he pays a bit more on his hedge fund profits, but he will ask everyone to pay the same rate. Whatever final proposal he makes if elected would be to make sure he finds a way to keep more for himself and pay less.

7. If he ever proposed a flat tax on wealth I might have to vote for him.
