Drudge Retort: "The Reason Jeb Looks So Miserable"

link to article:

Remember when his mom said he shouldn't run? So far, at least, it looks like she was right, and that Bush is just an awful candidate.

Here's a thought experiment for you. Imagine you could find a person who didn't know 1) who Jeb Bush was or 2) what pursuit he was involved in. You showed the person a video clip of a Bush press conference or speech, but with the sound turned down, and you asked the person, just based on the expression on Bush's face and the hang of his shoulders and whatnot, where is this man, and what is he doing?

I think your person would say something like: "Well...he looks like he's at a funeral. Attending the funeral of a friend's mother. Or maybe not even a friend. Maybe a co-worker, or employee. He didn't know the woman. But he's there, because he needs to be, and he's paying his respects. ‘I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure she was a wonderful woman.' He's doing his duty, but he also looks like he'd really rather be somewhere else."

Barbara Bush: 'I've Changed My Mind' On Another Bush Occupying The White House

Call it the first flip-flop of the 2016 presidential campaign.

Barbara Bush said Friday that she no longer feels that too many Bushes have occupied the White House.

“What do you mean, ‘Too many Bushes’? I’ve changed my mind,” she said in a carefully coordinated Skype announcement at a Bonita Springs, Florida, dinner for hundreds of her son's supporters, according to The Washington Post.

“Hey mom, can I get that in writing by the way?” said the former governor of Florida, who was standing on stage.

Maybe she'll change it back?

7. More than likely she changed her mind out of pressure

She is Jeb's mother after all. I think her original comment was an honest reaction to the prospect of her son putting himself through a campaign knowing full well that at least half of the country either out right hates or dislikes her other kid. Hell, she is after all her own person, maybe she disliked how the 2000s turned out and attributes some of that blame to George.

At the end of the day she is Jeb's mother and a mother is going to do whatever she can to help her child. She probably changed her opinion publicly for that reason and that reason alone.

Anyway, my opinion of Jeb has far less to do with his name and more about the current direction of the republican party. I'm less critical of George W than other democrats. Quite frankly, if I had to chose between the comb over and Jeb Bush, i'll vote for Jeb every day.

Self Edit: that isn't to say I intend to support or vote for any republican candidate. Something would seriously have to screw up in the democrat party for me to think that way and I'm more likely to stay home than vote for any of the riffraff on the right. Kasich doesn't make me want to vomit in my own mouth but he doesn't know when to shut up. He had democrats thinking he was the best of the lot until he made the union comments. Even if he doesn't believe them, its just bad pr.

Happened to Hillary in 2008, has happened to a lot of professional athletes. They think they only have to show up and claim the prize. Their opponents hustle gain the upper hand, by the time they realize they are in trouble it is too late.
