Ding, ding, ding -- Sarah Palin's comment regarding Reverend Wright struck a devilish memory bell
Listening to Ms. Palin's viewpoint that President Obama's former pastor is fair political game reminded me of another controversial minister whose services surfaced nationally during the 2008 Presidential campaign. The introduction at the beginning of the video at the following link includes a comment that Sarah Palin's pastor makes Wright look like Father Flanagan of Boy's Town, but that is somewhat of an understatement....

1. I wonder what Palin would say if she were asked
if she thinks her own religious disconnects should also be fodder for the media, as well as the public who the media incites. Me thinks that her "rational" brain would probably not be able to make the connection and her "rational response' would become just another one of her word salads.
What does it say about us as a society when people actually take what she says seriously? |

3. I usually try to simply ignore her but
I couldn't resist this response to her recent remarks. I am sure there are many DU'ers who missed this story the first time around, and I simply thought they should be given the opportunity to become acquainted with Sarah's pastor. It puts a whole different slant on her criticism of Reverend Wright.
Thanks for your response. Sam |

4. Sam, It was not my intention at all to imply that your thread is a waste of time.
I was merely trying to express my frustration that such a mentally challenged individual holds the attention of our media in the way that she does.

6. Oh, left on green only, I didn't take it that way
I always try to respond to people who actually post on my threads because so few people post any written text these days. Everyone is in such a hurry, they Recommend threads they like and move on quickly to the next one. So to those who do take an extra moment, I also try to thank. In this case, I simply thought, pardon the expression, tit for tat was in order for Ms. Palin.
And again, thanks for posting on my thread! Sam |

7. Gawd, I miss her and other commentators I met when Palin was running for VP
but I absolutely do not miss Palin herself. I am the happiest when I simply ignore her. When she spoke yesterday about Wright being fair game, I couldn't help myself. I just had to repost that video. And I was HAPPY to do so.
Thanks for posting on my thread. Sam |

9. You know Shannyn has a daily radio talk show
that you can stream or pick up on podcasts. It airs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Anchorage time, which is 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. East Coast.
The podcasts are here: http://shannynmoore.podbean.com/ Since I'm usually busy in the evening, I listen to her podcast the next day when I'm on the computer. She also has a column in the Anchorage Daily News, http://www.adn.com , on Sundays. |

5. Yet Democrats shrink in horror at mentioning the "M" word
It speaks to the character and basic fabric of a person's makeup, if they were raised in religion since birth. Just because the RWers are afraid to take a real look at it, does not mean it should n ot be brought up. At least we knew SP was a religious crazy, among other things. She was part of Joel's Army...ready to send us all to the Apocalpse as soon as possible so that Jesus could come and get them.
Religion, especially cults and "special" ones that the common person cannot attend, need to be outed. I don't judge it...it just needs to see the light of day for voters to peruse if this guy wants to be the Leader of the Free World. |

11. M as in moron? Oops make that "moran"
I don't label her with that term because I always reserved it for George W. Bush*. I could not believe a majority of people in the United States voted for someone that dumb (turns out, they probably didn't). But Palin is someone who unbelievably to me appears to be even less knowledgeable than Bush*. Thus far, I have not come up with nor have I heard anyone else use a term exactly tailor-made for her particular acumen....

I read that post several times and just didn't get the essence of what he was saying. That's is probably because I just don't think like that.

15. Why is it "an attack"???
Rommey is a Mormon. That is not an attack. It is a statement of fact.
Mormons believe in using women/wives as slave labor, excuse me, multiple wives and child-bearers. There is a CURRENT Reality Show on the Television, Sister Wives, ya know? They are called Mormon Fundamentalists. Why? Because they still espouse the basic tenants of Joseph Smith's religion. Why else do they need more than one wife? It's expensive and racks up the number of kids. It's like saying calling GWB a Methodist is an attack. WTF? When you find me a religion that thinks that women should have 5 or more husbands, fundamental or reformed or current...then let's talk. I'd be up for that...what a farm or corporation I could manage with 5 or more studs at my beck and call. (I'm a woman) Until then, it's like Romney's ill-advised statement...marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman. What a crock of reinvention for a Mormon whose great-grandfather had 12 wives and his grandfather had 5. |

16. Maher mentioned the planet Kolob on his last show
He didn't provide any explanation but just said the word in connection with where Romney's God lives.
