Hey, for decades, mind you, decades...

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by uppityperson (a host of the General Discussion forum).

We have been looking for a person that would justify our anger.
We, as Dems, have been searching, longing for someone, anyone, to extol our virtues
We have settled in the past. We said oh,ok, the lesser of two evil. But the lesser is still evil.
Is that what we want, need, expect?
That's a loser attitude.
You do not expect to win, anything, anything at all..

Now we are faced with a candidate that expresses that attitude that we embrace. People scream socialism, wrong look, etc. where have we gone wrong, where have we separated?

Rivers have two courses. One being the easy, the normal. The other being a course that may be a little different, a new course, a new way.

Why after all these decades must we continue on the same course?
Why after all these decades must we continue with the same old bull that put us in the situation we are today?
Why cannot we accept a new course? The old doesn't work, that's why we're here.

This country, this world is in danger. We are suffering, calling out for help.
We need to break the absolute control that the corporate world has on us.

We all know the facts about climate change, income inequality, sexual inequality, wage disparity and on and on and on. Our litanty, the Democrat Litany, our beliefs, our souls.

Look deep inside.

I don't post much anymore. I will probably not be here to answer much. Having a huge problem with my water supply. But I had to have my two cents put in. Plumber is calling.
I don't think I can afford this. But we will get through. We survive.

We don't exist in a vacuum. Your or our desires are one of many. There is as much push against what you want as there is for.
You have to take all that in to account. You can't support someone and think that is all it will take to make change.
It takes a lot of hard work and a lot if time. It takes changing the attitude of a nation.
You can't make Bernie President and have him turn the country into a progressive wonderland.
Not going to happen that way!

3. So you have a problem with hard work, don't do it, the rest of us don't mind the effort.

Your problem is that making change sounds too hard for you? Amazing. But typical of the comfy straight center, that's for sure.

5. Here's my take, for what it's worth

I am 67, live on SSI and Social Security. For any of you who want to know, in New York, that comes to $758 a month. I do get food stamps, Medicare, an undefined amount for heating help, but nothing else. My son, who is 38 and has physical problems with certain jobs, lost his only chance for a good paying job because of H1-B visas. And, now is competing for jobs with recent graduates and guys with over 20 years experience. He's only been able to get one interview in the last 5 years, and that was weirdly strange.
And, yes, he has tried for minimum wage jobs and never gets a response back. His resume has been rewritten 5 times by semi-professionals, with still no results. He lives with me.

Why did I bring the above situation up? It's to show the difference between Hillary and Bernie, and my life.

When the Republicans start to change the 'entitlement' rules, to save Social Security, I have absolutely no doubt, that even if it passes in the House and Senate, Sanders, as my President will veto it. Actually, I think Sanders would probably not let it even get that far.

Hillary, on the other hand, would probably negotiate with the Republicans to allow retirement age to 70 and 'entitlement' raises via chained CPI. I could not count on her to have MY OR ANY OTHER POOR PERSONS situation in consideration, when she doesn't veto an 'improvement' to 'entitlements'. I believe her only concern will be if she shows she can 'work' with the other side, (at least to the public).

Absolutely no Bernie supporter thinks that Bernie can "turn this country into a progressive wonderland", but at least we know he will try.

It's a little safer here. Believe it or not.

Bernies group? then who cares.

This goes beyond candidates although it does seem slanted to my sig line.

Sorry

7. Locking, better suited for GDP since it's about the Democratic Primary and fits GDP's SOP, not GD's

Please consider reposting there as is a good post, just not in this forum's SOP.
