UPDATE:
Best Source Of Info I Can Find:
Kortney Moore, 18, from Rogue River, was in her Writing 115 class in Snyder Hall when one shot came through a window. She saw her teacher get shot in the head. The shooter was inside at that point, and he told people to get on the ground. The shooter was asking people to stand up and state their religion and then started firing away, Moore said. Moore was lying there with people who had been shot.
There are unconfirmed reports that the shooter had either been shot or had shot himself. An official confirmed that the shooter had been neutralized.
Brady Winder, 23, of Portland, said he was in the room next door when he heard a loud thud that didnt sound like a gunshot. He then heard a percussion of gunshots and the students all fled out the front door.

(3,447 posts)It is incredibly common to see. It often gets reported (or someone will say they report it, you know how the internet is), but there's a ton of it. You have to understand, one of the long-time sayings of the site is "If you take anything posted here as serious, you're a fool". That some people do post some serious things doesn't change the fact that 99.999999% of it is BS.
It's kind of like conspiracy theories. You know 99.99999% of them are totally bogus, but every now and then one will be true enough to keep the crazies involved in the really outlandish ones.

(60,010 posts)13 Killed in Shooting at Oregon's Umpqua Community College:
At least 13 people were dead and more than 20 others were injured after a gunman opened fire Thursday morning on the campus of Umpqua Community College in southwest Oregon, authorities told NBC News.
It wasn't immediately known whether the gunman was among the dead after the shooting near Roseburg, which was called in at 10:38 a.m. (1:38 p.m. ET), officials said. State Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum told NBC News simply that he had been "neutralized."

(19,059 posts)The shooter's dating site profile says "Spiritual, but not practicing any denomination, Conservative, Republican."

(5,279 posts)From all the different reports I have seen; only the statement of Ms. Moore says the the shooter had a passing interest in the religion of people he had decided to shoot.
I have not seen any screen shots of the shooter's postings expressing religious leaning.
I have not seen screen shots expressing why he respected the IRA. (religious, ethnic, notoriety, the length of time the IRA has been in existence, or simply the word republican).
How was that evolved into the shooter was deliberately hunting Christians?
Anyone have links to something confirming this?
Were their potential victims spared by their answer to the religious question?
Or is this fear mongering based on a random question posed by someone who had crossed a number of mental lines?
I am not being snarky, I will face relatives who soak Faux News up like vomit filled sponges. They truly believe Christians are being hunted like English foxes in some vaguely described location.

I'm not sure how "dislike" is equated to "opened fire upon".
Just seems contrived to me, with the level of exposure currently available.

(9,766 posts)Oregon shooter said to have singled out Christians for killing in horrific act of cowardice
"In one classroom, he appeared to single out Christian students for killing, according to witness Anastasia Boylan.
He said, Good, because youre a Christian, youre going to see God in just about one second,' Boylans father, Stacy, told CNN, relaying his daughters account while she underwent surgery to treat a gunshot to her spine.
And then he shot and killed them.
Another account came from Autumn Vicari, who described to NBC News what her brother J.J. witnessed in the room where the shootings occurred. According to NBC: Vicari said at one point the shooter told people to stand up before asking whether they were Christian or not. Vicaris brother told her that anyone who responded yes was shot in the head. If they said other or didnt answer, they were shot elsewhere in the body, usually the leg.
