PLEASE take precautions if you live in SC & NC!

Wunderground:
Historic Rain/Flooding Heading for Carolinas
An extremely strong conveyor belt of moisture will stream into the Carolinas over the next several days, aided by moisture from Hurricane Joaquin as it turns to the north in the Atlantic Ocean. While the higher elevations of South Carolina will experience the most rain, upwards of 18 inches of rainfall will fall on parts of the Carolinas. This could create an historic flooding event that NOAA is calling a 1 in 1000 year event. Residents are urged to take precautions to protect life and property.

I am in the belt of highest rain because of the way it's plotted.
Do not assume that you will not flood just because it hasn't before. The ground in most areas is already saturated. If the wind is strong, trees will be uprooted because the roots are not deep in many cases.

I'm kinda glad ol' Mouse and Scat aren't here. They went through 2 apartment floods and I can see their eyes roll.
I still miss them but Tater and Moonpie keep me entertained.

I spent several days there at a seminar and I'm so glad I didn't take additional classes - the seminar doesn't end until Sunday. The other participants who are staying for the entire event are going to have problems getting home. I hope they will be safe.

The bad thing is that it had already rained enough in the week before I arrived that some of the coastal roads were flooded. My husband went to Huntington Beach Park on Monday and the main road into the park was closed due to water over the road.

While we were in South Carolina our area (Tallahassee) had severe rain and some roads are still flooded.

Be careful everyone in the Carolinas!
