However, the Pope DID meet with a same-sex couple while he was in the US

and there is a video of that one

(CNN)—The day before Pope Francis met anti-gay county clerk Kim Davis in Washington last week, he held a private meeting with a longtime friend from Argentina who has been in a same-sex relationship for 19 years.

Yayo Grassi, an openly gay man, brought his partner, Iwan, as well several other friends to the Vatican Embassy on September 23 for a brief visit with the Pope. A video of the meeting shows Grassi and Francis greeting each other with a warm hug.

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Grassi declined to disclose details about the short visit, but said it was arranged personally by the Pope via email in the weeks ahead of Francis' highly anticipated visit to the United States.

"Three weeks before the trip, he called me on the phone and said he would love to give me a hug," Grassi said.

Kim(meh), u should tell your lawyers, it is a Christian sin to lie. One of Gawd's Top Ten, I hear.

An actual pre-planned invitation for a private audience for a guy couple versus sneaking into a reception line for a brief shaking of hands and the usual mass audience formal "meeting" for the anti-gay Bible-thumper.

but Frank met with an old friend, in private, and told us only after we found out about Kim Davis.

Is that supposed to make his anti gay activism all ok now?

Is it true that Republicans are not racists because they support Ben Carson? Is that a claim you would care to make in public?

Thank you. I've been wanting to say this since the flurry of Pope Met Same Sex Couple threads started appearing--suggesting the alternate title "Pope Met With Friend in Private Meeting," but didn't feel it was worth it.

And there it is! A friend who happened to be gay and in a relationship. This is nothing more than spin to detract from the negative publicity he is getting from the Davis story, which is now being marketed as "The Pope was blindsided." First they (the Vatican) denies it, then the Pope is blindsided, and as if written for one of the most formulaic TV dramas, the "same-sex couple" meeting emerges.
