Everyone recognizes this as crazy.

And yet these fundie politicians want to bring about the end times, and outline their plans to hasten this through war in the middle east, thereby sending All christians on the planet to meet god and most people don't see this as just as crazy?

If Mike Huckabee had the power to send all Christians to heaven right now, he would do so. Think about that, Christians...he would kill you all, if only he could.

The biggest thing seperating these fundies from a lone nutjob that carries out a small scale plan to murder, is simply that they want to do it on a global scale.
