Wouldn't even be surprises if the topic becomes banned here. What else is there to say? We know the problem are the guns but any time you bring it up, you're stonewalled. So it's pointless.

to understand
gun == responsibility

volunteered as instructor (got turned down due to hours but i tried)

worked for 'militia' ...military training == weapons, no training == no weapons

guilty of using the Second Amendment for our rationalizations not to take actions needed. Changing laws to limit access to guns is the easy step and we aren't even doing that. The real problem is that we've built a society heavily based on authoritarianism. We like the tough guys that beat up the "bad" guys. Our country has for over a century been the biggest bully on the block. Just look at the Viet Nam War and the Iraq War. Our TV and movies are full of shows that feature good guys bullying perceived bad guys. Seems we believe it's a good thing to bully for goodness. Of course we all define goodness as we see fit.

The Second Amendment is merely an Amendment to our Constitution. It is not sacred. It wasn't even part of the original Constitution. It was a change to the Constitution. We need to change the Constitution again to end this madness, if we really want.

Bowling for Columbine didn't really blame the number of guns in the U.S. MM focused more on our culture of fear.

But the above quote makes it sound like he supported the Assault Weapons Ban.

Since the American public doesn't seem capable of or willing to do much about the gun problem and the Law Of The Jungle mindset which accompanies that problem, maybe all we can do is hunker down and hope that none of our loved ones are victims.

I remain convinced that my support of solid controls on firearms is correct and is overwhelmingly supported by the good and responsible people of this country. Those of you still adhering to Second Amendment absolutism are enablers of the very worst elements of society---I think you are fully aware of this, and you're having more and more of a problem with it. Particularly those of you who claim to be Democrats. History is not going to be kind to you.

they're always hung up on the language, and the media makes sure they think only about the language, not the policy

it's not even a decorous "debate over how to accomplish goals everyone wants": the point of party politics is to empty itself out

Bowling for Columbine and Capitalism: A Love Story are my favorites. What I don't understand is why we hunt terrorists round the globe and seemingly do nothing to prevent domestic terrorism. And our society don't seem to care when the terrorists are American nationals.

Our just flat worn out by trying the same thing over and over expecting a different out come. It is going to take something drastic to change the wealthy s mind or those of great influence.

If we didn't have people like Trump pandering to an other wise intelligent portion of out fellow voters.

The only way it worked in Australia where booth Political party's came together. They are not disarmed but have ownership privileges of all but assault rifles and shotguns.

I am confused about the shotgun ban because it can only fire three to five rounds compared to other guns and it has no clip for quick re loading.

There needs to be small changes to all factions , liberal and conservative favorites.

I started watching a HBO program that is free for me on Amazon called Deadwood. It is crap. No mildly unstable person needs to watch that crap.

Both sides give a little and I think there will be positive results.

BOTH SIDES with equal amounts of sacrifice!

on the Iraq War, and on just about everything he was RIGHT about.

Capitalist, A Love Story should be required viewing for all potential voters.

Fahrenheit 9/11 revealed to us things we did not know about the complicity of members of our own party in the handing over of power to the thieves who stole the 2000 election.

I remember John Conyers in that documentary, but he has gone silent lately. Did they 'teach him a lesson' when they went after his wife?

I was introduced to Elizabeth Warren by MM in 'Capitalism, a Love Story'.

He is an American treasure. Not so much to some on the 'left' though,, which is what began my enlightenment about just who had taken over our party.

I can't even muster up the energy to get upset about these incidents anymore. It's just the choice our society seems to have made about how it wants to live.

I just wish people would stop with the hypocritical hand wringing that occurs whenever the inevitable happens. This is the new normal. Best get used to it, because it isn't going away.

And it is mistakenly referred to as an anti-gun movie when it's actually a scathing indictment of media fear-mongering and how the NRA has tapped into that and become a right-wing fundraising machine.
Gun deaths are a symptom of the sickness in our culture.
