Read this if you want a solution to mass shootings.

The second amendment states "the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It doesn't say what types of arms.

One solution; single shot, manually loaded everything. Puts a damper on the "spray and slay" of semi-autos while still allowing for hunting, home defense, personal protection, etc.

A buyback program for anything other than the above. You're caught with anything else, severe consequences. A reward of X-dollars for information leading to information on someone who's cheating.

Yes, it will take a generation to implement. Yes, there will be high-profile bumps in the road. No, it won't end gun violence. But it's a start.

Do not think it would pass constitutional muster though. Ban all semi-automaic long guns and pistols. How do you ensure they get turned in? Is the buyback mandatory and are they paying full cost for the weapon?

I had a discussion yesterday and when the person basically said the same thing I asked him if he was for banning all semi-auto rifles, he said not there were steps in the middle before a full ban. When I asked what steps, he got mad started insulting and name calling and ran away in a huff.

Don't know about constitutional muster either. I guess it would have to be tried.

They wouldn't all be turned back in (cheaters). Keep hammering at it, and the numbers will go down, but not to zero. Buyback prices? I don't know. It will be a long and messy struggle, perhaps decades, but it's a start.

Start from the family, out into the community, and then on up since it's obviously not going to trickle down from the U.S.A. Congress any time soon.

Let the gun lovers you know you think their fetish is creepy.

If my children or spouse or any of my close relatives or neighbors had a gun fetish, I'd be very concerned for their own safety and the safety of others.

Ignore them. It is like shunning. Excommunication. They can talk to themselves. Push to have them banished completely if they spout NRA talking points.
