Katie Leach admits that her son's "new thing" is yelling.
"He will yell when I tell him no, when he's super excited and happy or just for no reason at all," Leach wrote on a Facebook post to KTVB. "I'm doing my best to teach him indoor voice and to not yell back at me when telling him no etc, But he is only 10 (almost 11 months) and LEARNING."
Leach says she and her family where dining at Texas Roadhouse in Nampa when her son began to yell off and on. "We all tried quieting him down which a majority of the time he did but he also was so excited to be around all the commotion," said Leach. "He was not yelling to be mean or because he was mad, it was purely from excitement and being happy."

(28,581 posts)"Never bring your children to a restaurant that they are not old enough to behave in comfortably."
This translates to: Bring your kids to age appropriate places and then both you and they can enjoy yourselves together instead of spending the whole time struggling to make them behave.

(33,688 posts)There's no excuse for disrupting the meals of a restaurant full of people. None.

Your kid misbehaves in the grocery store, then you fricken' leave.
Your kid misbehaves in church, then you fricken' leave.
Ignore the promises, ignore the screams, ignore that little animal until you get him or her away from the human beings.
"new thing" - What a crock of bullshit. The parents should get themselves sterilized.

(2,899 posts)Take the screamers outside and let them sit in the car and learn whatever their new trick is there.
I always took my babies outside when they started to create a disturbance.
BTW; from the story;
Why did they mention race? Weird.

(5,417 posts)Perhaps the toddler is not ready to go out. If the kid was yelling they should have taken him outside until he calms down.

(16,685 posts)And away from other people. If they are incapable they should be with a babysitter. Having said that Texas Roadhouse is hardly a quiet highbrow establishment. You can't have a conversation in one...they are noisy without screaming children.

(12,629 posts)we probably wouldn't even notice a screaming child. The acoustics in their restaurants are the worst.

(6,913 posts)They should stay home if their child can't behave in public. Nobody has the right to ruin experiences for everybody else. They are incredibly self-centered and selfish.
This subject gets me going...

(3,263 posts)I had to leave a cart full of groceries one time
did I want to come back and have to shop all over again ? No but my son was at that age and it was not stopping and I was aware it was too disruptive to stay
