How about you?

Otherwise, Bernie would be CRUSHING it right now.

Of those that pay attention CLOSELY, opposition is strongly against the TPP I'd say (this is a small subset of the American population).

Unless you're in the top 5% or so (in which case one might just be buttering their own bread at the expense of the bottom 90% and not losing a minute's sleep over it).

only influence their members but the members families and friends. Not to mention all those college students who are having trouble finding jobs, the unemployed and their families, those old enough to remember the effect of NAFTA, and any others who have damned good reasons to be against TPP.

And then those who belong to groups such as Doctors Without Borders who are worried about the rise in the cost of medications, and others that are worried about the environment and finally those who do not want the issues decided in a "world court" outside our own country.

Personally I do not think the number of people against the TPP is all that small.

... and then he appointed Summers and Geithner, two Goldman Sachs alumni, and I knew we'd been played BIG time. Then it was revealed that Goldman Sachs was Obama's biggest single campaign contributor. He's been in the pocket of the banksters from Day One. Why do you think Holder never went after them? Gonefishin's assessment is dead on.

Obama has, indeed, accomplished some great things, but this TPP obscenity will overshadow all of that, and history will not remember him kindly.

So much for your precious "legacy," Barry.

I'm sure it's just coincidence that the one Dem candidate whose is most celebrated for being able to "compromise" is also the one Dem who hasn't expressed an opinion on the TPP.

the one where a man with a knife got to the foot of the stairway leading to the family quarters where the two girls were asleep, while POTUS and FLOTUS were away--were perhaps warnings, shots across the bow, reminding POTUS that TPTB don't mind a bit of social tinkering, but still insist on having their financial wish list satisfied.

and their family. So I imagine that thugs who are used to always getting their way might convey a message that they should accept $500,000 speaking engagements for the next 20 years otherwise some type of unfortunate mishap might occur in the future.

It would explain why no matter what the public wants the politicians just keep enacting more and more fascist policies.

"Oooh, it's in the New York Times, it must be true".

Seriously, they must release the full text before they can expect anyone to have something good to say about it.

Meanwhile, here are some reactions direct from environmental organisations, rather than filtered through the NYT and the White House:

More Than a Dozen Environmental Organizations Warn of Trans-Pacific Partnership Risks

Four Reasons Not to Trust the TPP to Save Endangered Animals

Sustainable Development Goals Threatened by Secret Trade Deal

The TPP is a shady deal cooked up behind closed doors, and the details are still being hidden

(when I say 'find out directly', I mean what environmental organisations think, of course, not find out what's in the agreement. That's still sooper-dooper secret).

But you can see that this is a repeat of the Cheney tactics on Iraq - point to what the New York Times says, and hope they have better credibility than the White House does.

isn't it finally opened up to the public as well? I've been getting a lot of emails from various liberal orgs. who are now organizing a final push against TPP.

Imagine Republicans defeating the Bill and using the contents of it against Dems during 2016 elections.
