Talbot: Show courage, honor and remove statue (MD)

By DOMINIC TERRONE

Hopefully, the Talbot County Council members know that the “Talbot Boys, CSA” statue recognizes only the Confederate soldiers and willfully ignores about 350, or nearly four times as many Talbot County residents who fought for the Union ... Those men fought to preserve this nation as one entity, while the Talbot Boys CSA fought as part of the Confederate effort to sunder the nation in two while spreading slavery throughout the US ... Certainly the county council members must understand the courage of the Union Talbot Boys at least matched the Talbot Boys CSA, especially the African-American Talbot Boys ... It would be a truly honorable action by the county council to remove the “Talbot Boys CSA” statue elsewhere ...
