Is it just me? Carson's voice! Noooooo!!!!

I know this is just speculation, because I know zip about the guy, but his voice absolutely turns my stomach.

No matter what he says, his voice says (to me):

1. Helpless
2. Victim
3. Spineless
4. Apathetic
5. Childish
6. Selfish
7. Irresponsible
8. Passive-aggressive
9. Unconcerned
10. Lifeless

He sounds like a 2nd grader who barely keeps up with what's going on around him, but expects everything to be handed to him.

He sounds like he's dis-associated, a non-personality. A puppet. A place-holder. There's no there there.

I can never remember his name, because he doesn't register with me as a separate person. At least Trump is a person and the others seem to have some passion for their insane objectives.

I wonder if the man has a single real opinion about anyone. I wonder if he can care about anyone, or if he's capable of real compassion, of independent action.

I don't know anything about the guy's past, just what he sounds like on the surface, and I wonder what anyone sees in the guy.

I find his whole stilted delivery and little smirk to be the quintessence of patronizing (which I'm sure is how he came across to patients and colleagues).

The guy's just weird. Like a pod person, and that comment about the bullet riddles bodies and the 2nd Amendment, I don't think anyone else in the world would have thought to say that. He says a lot of dumb shit for a brilliant neurosurgeon. I really don't get him.

He's so superior. And I don't see a reason for him to feel superior.

Obama is a superior heart and intellect. He really is smarter than the rest of us. Carson's not.

I agree, though, that I don't see the appeal of the man. I expect a leader to appear more dynamic & engaged with the ideas of governing. But 15% of Republican voters are somehow smitten with the man & trust him. I gotta assume that has mostly to do with the substance of the things that he says. I think his ideas are yo-yo, but surely there's more than just stylistics to his appeal.

the man is a brain surgeon.

Regardless of what you think of his politics, no one who is stupid becomes an MD of any degree.

Yes, he may have little common sense. He may know nothing of the world as the poor live in it today, but there's plenty there.

I find it insulting that people are labeling a black man of such stature this way. It's troubling. Very troubling.

I also find it troubling that Ben Carson would allow himself to be used the way the Republican party is using him, but that has nothing to do with the man's "pedigree" and demeaning him like this is reminiscent of what the republicans do to Obama based purely on the color of his skin.

after watching a clip of Carson on the news. My husband's response was you should hear him in person. Husband worked in the same hospital as Ben did in Baltimore and would once in a while have to do the neurological monitoring when Carson operated. Let's just say that husband is NOT a fan of Ben's.
