that is a dummy's view of socialism, they can't imagine anyone leaving the ladder behind after using it.

What's on the plateau above? The assumption must be that once one person gets there, he will then pull the ladder up making it unavailable to the person below. What happened to the third guy? Did the other two eliminate him from the equation?
