Cocks Not Glocks: University Of Texas Students Plan Provocative Protest Of New Campus Carry Law

I think this should go national:

https://www.facebook.com/events/1686524198249678/

Students at the University Of Texas at Austin are planning to protest a new law that permits the concealed carry of handguns on campus — with dildos.

The “campus carry” law passed by the Texas legislature and signed by the Governor in June, requires UT Austin and the other campuses in the UT system to allow students to carry guns on campus. It gives the schools some discretion on how to implement the law.

The protest is designed to draw attention to the fact that carrying a dildo to class could be “prohibited expression” under university rules. The rules prohibit “any writing or visual image, or engage in any public performance, that is obscene.”

“You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO. Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play,” the organizer, Jessica Jin, wrote.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jacob-m-appel/alabamas-bad-vibrations_b_300491.html

Alabamans who sell sex toys -- even inside so-called "adult oriented" businesses -- face up to a year in prison and a $10,000 fine. Repeat offenders risk a ten year prison sentence.

Yet in Alabama you can buy a gun in wal-mart, can't you? But you go to prison for selling a sex toy.

You don't think there's even the tiniest thing fucked up with that?

Maybe if they designed the vibrators to fire 9 mm ammo, then no one would be thrown in prison over them.

Okay, I know where you're going. Here, lemme help you; "butbutbut you said people were getting arrested for having vibrators in their houses!"

It's called hyperbole. You know, like "Obama wants to take all my guns!" Do "Second Amendment Enthusiasts" really fucking believe the black helicopters are going to come into their paneled basements and take all the precious? Really? Guess what, gang. Find a new anxiety- that one isn't happening. Feel better?

So, yes, a smidge of the ol' hyperbole. Guilty as charged.

And yes, you're right, like this particular woman was busted with more than one vibrator, possession with intent to sell, apparently. So.... totally fucking reasonable that she was facing a year in prison over it. I mean, the laws are very generous in that they probably won't come into your house and arrest you for your own vibrator, they may even let you keep it. You are correct.

Meanwhile, though, carry around all the assault weapons in public that you want. Yay freedom!

that Alabama law banning the sale of sex toys is ridiculous. It does nit appear to be widely enforced but it probably is stopping businesses from engaging in commerce.

people one step away from the assisted living facility, has a couple of pages of sex toys in it, such a ban is worthless. It's an unenforceable, useless sop for the terminally annoyed to toy with. People will simply order their dildos, vibrators and other such paraphernalia from a catalog or online and have it shipped to their door.

Nobody will be arrested for ordering or owning such devices. Any law like that is a look-see piece of legislation designed to pump up the egos (or something) of whatever legislators sponsored the law.

If the students at that college want to open carry dildos or any other sex toys as a protest, they should do it. Will it have shock value? Maybe not on campus, but certainly in the neighborhood of the campus. It won't be effective against the proliferation of firearms, but it will at least make a point.

Sounds like a great idea that will provoke thought and lots of laughter at the same time. Guys should open carry them, too, since there are laws against exposing the real thing in public.

Open Dildo Carry Rules!

death is legal. Most people who own either do so for nothing more than their own personal enjoyment.

Perhaps you can answer the question?

It's not good nor bad, nor is it needed or not needed, it's the choice of the state to allow for it and the choice of the students/faculty to exercise it.

Now, can you point out where it's been a problem at the other state university's that allow for CC?
