If anyone doubted that the Republican Party is in turmoil, this uncivil exchange between Congressmen Dave Brat (R-VA) and Charlie Dent (R-PA) on Meet the Press should dispel any doubts.
Dave Brat took exception to statements that Charlie Dent has been making about marginalizing the intransigent Republicans that have been holding the GOP hostage.
Here's what Dent told CNN moments after McCarthy withdrew from the race.

(73,630 posts)If they could oust Cantor, then none of the other mods are safe. They're already targeting any mods who've worked with Nancy Pelosi to keep the government running, I'm sure.
This is a take over and the Teabaggers are planning their next move.
If Ryan becomes Speaker he knows that the Teabaggeratti will have him by the balls. If he's smart, he'll keep declining the job.
All we have do is wait and see if he's smart enough to keep turning the Baggers' offer down, or give in to shortsighted greed and ambition by going for the gavel.
