Charges filed against woman who shot at fleeing shoplifters in Home Depot parking lot

A 46-year-old Clarkston woman accused of firing gunshots at two men who were driving away from a Home Depot after stealing merchandise has been charged with reckless use, handling or discharge of a firearm.

Tatiana Duva-Rodriguez is accused of firing the shots Oct. 6 at Home Depot, 4150 Joslyn Road in Auburn Hills. Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said charges were filed Tuesday morning.

“If this is proven, I find it very disturbing that someone would take out their gun in a busy parking lot and shoot at the tires of a passing car,” Cooper said.

“Once fired, the bullet could have easily ricocheted or fragmented and injured or killed someone else. It would have been much more helpful for her to take out her cellphone and shoot pictures of the shoplifter’s license plate.”

A press release announcing the charges called Duva-Rodriguez’s actions “misguided.”

Had she not shot, the car probably would have made a u-turn somewhere in the parking lot, come back, and singled her out to run her over! Plus, she saw something resembling a gun in the car!

Shoplifting (suspected) is cause for deadly force. No jury or judge needed. Thank God that screwdriver was returned safely to its proper display rack.

Patriots, to the barricades! Yes, the NRA has been warning you for years that Obummer is going to grab your guns, and it hasn't even remotely happened. Some of you have been getting discouraged, thinking your chance to throw down against the powers that be was never going to come. Some of you may have even allowed yourselves to doubt the never-ending cries of wolf from the NRA, but now you see that all your vigilance has been vindicated!

Go now! Grab all your bestest guns and deadliest ammo. Ride to the sound of guns! Don't wait for further instructions from headquarters. The time is now for all freedom loving good guys (and gals) with guns to blast away at your fellow citizens, law enforcement personnel and anyone else who looks like they might be up to no good.

Please note: This message is intended only for responsible gun owners and other good guys with guns. Terrorists, military, and jack-booted government thugs, please disregard this message. Thank you.

In case it's needed: Sarcasm off.

Gun ownership carries great responsibility and it's not like there was a clear and present danger when this nut decided to go all Annie Oakley in a crowded parking lot. Even though this doesn't go far enough, maybe her gun permit will get revoked as she clearly does not know how to use it safely. In the future maybe she'll just shoot photos of suspected scofflaws instead of bullets.

Oops.

On second thought, I doubt that she has ever heard those words, let alone know their meaning.
