http://bloggingblue.com/2015/10/scott-walkers-son-were-paid-1500-a-month-to-campaign-for-walker/Gov. Scott Walkers two college-aged sons were paid about $1,500 a month to campaign for their dad during his brief run for president.
Walkers campaign finance report filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission shows that both Matt and Alex were paid roughly $1,500 a month by the campaign.
The report shows Alex Walker was paid $4,819 between June 30 and September and Matt Walker was paid $4,824.

(14,449 posts)I think it's fine to have families involved but pay them a decent wage.

(135,425 posts)I have to say I disagree with you. If you believe in a candidate, you VOLUNTEER to support them. I mean, really--you have to take MONEY to support a relative? Ewwww....especially if there are complete strangers volunteering their time and effort to a campaign.
Putting family on as paid staff is simply really lousy optics. It's short-sighted, and it creates an appearance of greediness.
I don't like to see candidates do this.

BTW - I think Walker's performance during his presidential campaign, including his entry & exit, let alone his Wisconsin record have rendered him irrevelant on any stage for some time to come.
I am sorry for the residents of Wisconsin who saddled with this crooked, soulless moron.
Peace

Reports of his actual debt seem muddled at best.
Mr. Walkers FEC report shows he spent $6.4 million between the mid-July launch and the end of September. But those figures dont include $200,000 in Mr. Walkers reported outstanding bills or debts the campaign pushed past Oct. 1 a number that raises the Walker debt to more than $1 million more than his cash on hand, according to the people familiar with Mr. Walkers campaign finances.

Matt and Alexs expenses, room and board on the campaign trail arent clear. Security costs for the boys, are not broken out anywhere and likely a place WI citizens are absorbing more than is being reported.
