While the war hawks push more and more spending on war machines, they attack everything else including Social Security, Welfare, and Infrastructure (which was once deemed necessary to national defense).

The auditing can't be done, at least according to them, because of their incompetence (too complicated, not enough time, pencils ran out of lead, etc.)

The MIC dark pools aren't even allowed to be looked at, let alone discussed, let alone audited. Move along comrade, nothing to see here...

The very words of George W Bush on Feb. 14, 2007, uttered at a press conference in which not a single of the callow, cowed press corpse saw fit to ask a follow-up.

I remember Cindy Sheehan tried to bring it to our nation's attention.

As for his Poppy: Bush Sr told the FBI he was in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.

Remember after Katrina when bodies where still floating in the streets of NOLA and the first people that they sent in on the ground was to guard the banks and wealthy stores, in military vehicles and heavily armed, no less. Our resources are going to aid, in many ways, the very wealthy and their[/] status quo, we are meant to provide for them and they have no intention of resources being used on us.

'Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities.

It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population.

It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some 50 miles of concrete highway.

We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat.

We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.

This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road. the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.'

I've been saying for years now that it is specifically that military spending that will destroy this nation. At the moment we are the strongest militarily, but in almost every other measure we are well behind: infant mortality, health care, education, just to name three.

As a nation we are very rich, but the income inequality is staggering, and is likely to only get worse. I can only hope that we elect Bernie Sanders next year, and enough like-minded members of Congress to start to turn things around.

benefit tremendously, but ONE party has been trying to increase that giant sucking sound for decades, and it is the GOP.

**ONE party has built an entire ideology around the virtues of inequality, and it is the GOP.**

Fox News exists in large part to indoctrinate an entire nation in this way of thinking, to keep it from stopping the flow of wealth to the few. This has been going on for decades. Whenever conservatives get unhappy at something, Fox and other right-wing media tell them the Democrats did it. This has been going on for decades.

Can it be you really don't know? You sound as if you may be as indoctrinated in this mass deception as the typical Fox viewer.

Many Americans are personally very wealthy, as are corporations.

The phrase "America is going broke" applies to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT not having enough money to do its business. The reason it doesn't have enough money is 1. because tax rates on the rich are too low and 2. we have our priorities wrong when it comes to what we spend our money on.

The average American hears "America is going broke" and thinks that they PERSONALLY are going broke...which is exactly what the Rs want them to think.

In reality, the government is going broke because the Rs refuse to raise taxes on the wealthy to pay for government services. America the Country is doing just fine.
