For aging pet owners, the future can be a source of anxiety. What happens to my pet if I need to go to a home? they may wonder. But if their pet is anything like Mr. Pickles the cat, they may not need to worry; the pet might be able to move in as a resident, too!
Mr. Pickles is a tabby cat who one day ventured into the property of Bayview Retirement Community in Seattle, Washington. Out of warm-heartedness, residents tossed him bits of food. Maybe thats why he returned. Or maybe it was because his owner was gone all the time for medical reasons, and he needed some company.

(39,215 posts)took as many things as we could to decorate her room with things she would recognize. The idea of moving a pet into the nursing home is a very good idea from the point of view of the owner.
However I assume that the hospital would object on the grounds that it would make more work for them. That might be a great place for some volunteer action.

(16,296 posts)there were two overfed cats there named Zooey and Pro. When I asked the head nurse about them she said their real names were Prozac and Zoloft. Regardless they provided she said, great comfort to the residents sleeping with them and curling up in their laps. They really had it made - lots of love and food.
