"Bush has no money, he's meeting today with mommy and daddy, and they're working on his campaign."

Jeb Bush hunkers down with family to assess his candidacy, October 23, 2015

Jeb Bush will attend a finance meeting this weekend in Houston convened by former President George H. W. Bush and attended by Bush's brother, former President George W. Bush, CBS News has learned.

The session, designed to assess where Bush's candidacy stands in the face of large-scale staff cutbacks and underwhelming poll numbers, will also be attended by Bush's mother, Barbara Bush. The governor's campaign confirmed the meeting will be held Sunday and Monday.

CBS News has also learned George W. Bush will headline a fundraiser for Jeb Bush in Georgetown (Washington, DC) on Oct. 29. The fundraising email, which went out earlier this week, was sent by George W. Bush's two former chiefs of staff, Andy Card and Josh Bolten. Jeb Bush will not attend the fund-raiser.

.....

The event underscores the need for the former Florida governor to lean on his brother's fund-raising prowess to aid his struggling campaign.

Earlier this month, asked whether his brother would play a bigger role in his campaign, whether he'd come to the rescue, Bush told CBS News, "No, he doesn't have to rescue me....I'm on the path. I'm totally confident about where we are. This is a long haul."

Over that long haul, though, those who are funding his campaign may disagree. A GOP source who interacts regularly with the Bush campaign said there is a "donor revolt in progress," as early Bush backers have grown dismayed over the reversal of their candidate's fortunes.

Trump mocks Jeb, Rubio on their home turf in Florida, October 24, 2015

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Saturday mocked fellow contenders Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at a rally in their home state of Florida.

Trump teased Bush, a former Florida governor, for his recent decision to lay off campaign staff and cut salaries by 40 percent, and for his planned retreat with donors in Texas on Sunday.

"Bush has no money, he's meeting today with mommy and daddy, and they're working on his campaign," Trump said at the rally in downtown Jacksonville, Fla.

"He's a guy wants to run our country and he can't even run his own campaign. Think of it," he added.

The billionaire business mogul also tried to draw a contrast between Bush's campaign and his, saying he has fewer campaign staff and has spent the least money of all the candidates so far.

"You have all these people, what do you need these people for?" he said. "I put up less money than everyone else, and I'm number one."

Ol' Jeb! reminds one of a big ol' Florida palmetto bug on its back, spinning in circles.

“If this election is about how we’re going to fight to get nothing done, I don’t want any part of it. I don’t want to be elected president to sit around and see gridlock just become so dominant that people literally are in decline in their lives. That is not my motivation.

“I’ve got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that.”

Jeb Bush ain't cutting it for his mega donors, and they are out for blood. Now, he's gonna have to live with failure in a way he never conceived would happen to a privileged heir such as himself. Poor Jeb thought he was bred to rule. That's what Poppy always told him.

Momma Bush knew best, after all.

The Party establishment is horrified by this. What's interesting about watching it all play out.
This little tasty morsel will drive the aforementioned useful idiots even further into trumps camp..

This entire cycle will be a four-way between grassroots democratic populism, vs Establishment politics, VS the faux populism of the Right vs Bought Astroturf.

I think there's more of us than there are of them overall (plus demographic numbers are on our side), but I think the DNC is far better right now at the Establishment aspect of RealPoliticking, and that's bothersome to me.

At this point, I don't have much fear of a Republican winning the General (I don't think they have the electoral college map for it), but I am worried about what the DNC will do if We The People reject the Establishment candidate they put up...
