I HATE CANDY CORN.

I really hate candy corn. It is the nastiest third way candy in the world. Anybody who like candy corn likes a gross treat that has been repackaged over and over since the beginning of time.
Moses hated candy corn. Jesus hated candy corn. Santa hates candy corn. Who are they making this stuff for????

I noticed they done tried to get cute and color the nasty things in different ways, but I am not stupid. There is no fixing this candy, just give it up, and stop repackaging the same candy every year and selling it the next year. Oh, and get rid of Circus Peanuts and Boston Baked Beans too. Yuck!

One piece of candy corn reminds me of some of the better parts of my childhood. Any more than one piece gags me.

The same goes for those orange marshmallow peanuts.

Kids who trick or treat at my house get the good stuff. This is a really poor part of town and it's likely all they get all year unless somebody tucks a candy bar into their Xmas stockings.

It was not cheap, and I was doing 2 bags a week.... and them low and behold, she did an episode of Martha Stewart and gave up the recipe. It was 8$ for a not very big bag, and the recipe is exactly like hers. I do the pecan but her sour cherry and pistachio was very popular.

Early Bird Granola. She uses olive oil, brown sugar and maple syrup ( I use maple flavored agave) and sprinkles with sea salt. It's very light and not heavy clusters. Lots of seeds, and not super sweet. So good.

Oh shit, Kansas might take this- bottom of the damn 14th inning!

One of the many things that's the matter with Kansas is that they have no big-league team of their own. So naturally, they've adopted the Royals as their own, much like the New England states that are not Massachusetts have the Red Sox (with the exception of southern Connecticut, which leans toward the Yankees or Mets).

Use different sized glass - small, medium, large - and arrange them with the shorter ones side by side, but in front of the large one. Maybe slightly off center. Add a couple of tiny pumpkins - and place it all on a wooden tray, or a tray or plate of some kind - makes a nice center piece.

I sometimes tie a burlap ribbon around the shades.

Get a small table, find a corner to create a nook, place a few of your favorite things. Make it things that only seem disparate but actually do connect in some way. The more subtle the better. Then draw your own private joke. Whether or not everyone likes your drawing, you will all the more because you'll know what it means. Gives it added pleasure.

Music makes my drawings look like an actual artist drew them. But if it's quiet, I cannot draw things that look 'real', just like fuzzy koalas and baby elephants.

I think it's because it is 'forced' drawing. I love painting and I can draw with my brush. Why do I need drawing. So boring. No color, just that stupid chiaroscuro word that nobody knows how to say.
I'd rather just draw something funny, like a cartoon. But it's skeletons and artifacts from the backroom.
Ugly.
Maybe I like it, just not that class. Cannot wait for painting. Much better, imo.

OK, former Coffee Vendor here. Back when Starbucks was new, people would ask me why people paid so much for coffee. Being that I worked for someone who pretty much was a Willy Wonka of Coffee, I had ammo.

Two things that make bad Coffee: over-roasting and rot.

Most companies do not know how to roast, and they think roasting more will cover for the fact they use cheap beans. It does not.

Rot is easier to explain, simply put, even the freshest coffee will literally ROT within hours, thanks to it's oils. When someone keeps coffee in a big old urn, they are ensuring nasty coffee in an hour.

Starbucks used to be considered good coffee not because they were good roasters (they were not) but because they kept making their coffee fresh, so people used to skunky joe tasted it and went "wow, this is really good coffee!" Ah, but Captialism came in, with poorer trained workers and urns. Now, you want to know what cofee upstart started beating them..MCdonalds.

Now now, MickeyD's did not start becoming baristas, but what happens is that during breakfast rush, they cannot keep their coffee, so they HAVE to make it fresh. Of course, come marketing geniuses noticed this, and lo and behold, Mickey D's started talking about how it got fresh beans and was installing "MCafes" at it's locations where you could get lattes. People bought it, hook, line and sinker. Then Burger King noticed this, and decided to buy a chain called Tim Hortons, aka the Canuck Starbucks, and soon, at your BK, you will start buying maple donuts. The sounds you hear are the groaning of Canadian Duers who are scared to death BK will ruin their beloved donuts

The Moral is that with just a little bit of care and common sense, bad food can become good food, and vice versa

When my husband saw it at the liquor store he went overboard and bought two cases without knowing what it tasted like. Suntory has been brewing up some delicious limited edition craft beers lately, so he assumed this one would be good too. It tastes EXACTLY like candy corn to me, and I hate candy corn. Two cases of liquid candy corn. Trick or treat. Because of Japanese liquor laws, it's classified as happoshu and not beer because of the added pumpkin. This is literally a Third Way beer. The can is pretty at least.

The upside is that you can always get rid of it by giving it to trick-or-treaters. The downside is that you'll probably get busted. But it may be worth it to get rid of it.

He's pretending he likes it. It has to be really cold and the glass frozen for it to even be drinkable. I thought we should save it for emergencies, like stocks of bottled water and toilet paper for when there's an earthquake. It really would be an ideal children's beer.

Love It or Hate It, Candy Corn Rules the Trick-or-Treat Bag

The story behind the century-old waxy treat that frightens half of America By Robert Klara
October 27, 2015, 7:48 PM EDTAdvertising & Branding
According to the National Confectioners Association, some 35 million pounds (about 9 billion kernels) of candy corn will be manufactured this year. Americans are expected to buy 20 million pounds of that batch—15 million for this week alone. In fact, in case you haven't marked your calendar, Oct. 30 is National Candy Corn Day.

Great stuff, right? But not for everyone. There's probably no other confection in existence that is so polarizing—that coaxes such intense expressions of loving and loathing—as candy corn. This year alone, product-review site Influenster ranked candy corn the No. 1 Halloween candy in five states—even as Kidzworld left it out of its Top 10 list entirely. In 2012, Time magazine declared candy corn to be "this year's 'it flavor,'" only to have The Huffington Post proclaim it the "most hated" candy in America the following year.

It is very hard to find and is made with honey instead of corn syrup. I think it was the original and all of the other stuff is a crude copy.

I'd make it, if I had the recipe.

I haven't touched candy corn in years and I never will again. I don't know anyone who actually likes it.

Why do they make it?

Yes.

I admit it.

I'm the one.

I eat all the white bits at the top and then throw the rest of it away.

You saw them in the wastebasket, didn't you?

So weird....

Now you know.

those peanut butter things that come in the orange and black wrappers (Mary Janes?). Bleh.

With candy corn, well it's just a flavorless sugar paste. It's related to those dried sugar decorations you put on cakes.
