Mozilla Firefox has just screwed up my PC...I get no sound and we can't figure it out...

I can't use my usual way of uploading art work so I can't do my art essays on DU every other Friday. That hurts me most. I had an art essay all ready to go for Friday and that's toast until I can figure it all out.

Of course, I'm going to call my computer guy tomorrow and see if he can figure it out for me.

I just don't get it...I didn't ask for this newer version of Firefox...

Maybe I need to be switched to a different internet provider...

and his response was, "What do you usually think when someone offers you something for free?" My response - "There must be something wrong with it." He just laughed. I'm sticking with 7.

it's been an easy transition from 7. It does really feel like a beta release, though, and the latest update for it changed all my settings and pissed me off for half a day.

I can do pretty much anything I could with XP.
I tried Running Firefox and it didn't work very well. Went back to whatever it is W-10 uses. Edge, I think.

Won't show some graphics though.
Just a placeholder(?).

Stereo mini jack or coaxial digital, or optical?

Not to sound insulting. but does your keyboard have a 'mute' key?

Process of elimination.

He doesn't think it's a problem with Firefox. He suspects it has a virus and needs cleaning. We've had some problems for a while but they were minor.

looks very different. So that means something is goofed up with the entire computer not just Mozilla Firefox.

Hope to have it back Friday around noon if not earlier.

Then my Friday art essay can be posted. I was so heartbroken that my art essay would be gone forever. Now I have hope again!

Your bookmarks are literally a lifeline if they genealogical!

My computer guy knows how scared I am of losing my art picture folders. So he's coming to the rescue!

Is there a red X by the speaker symbol?
go to Device Manager in Control Panel and see if sound is enabled.

when you finally figure it out.

Before you call a tech, make sure all connections are secure, that your sound is on, and that the dirvers are up to date. Reboot your system, that usually cures a lot of ills by itself.

If nothing helps, then call a tech.
