It is not a revolution, it is a pattern in history.

Last edited Thu Oct 29, 2015, 01:14 PM - Edit history (2)

It has been happening every 30- 40 years with one exception, since the American Revolution

1. American Revolution 1770- 1887 (ended with Constitution being written and adopted)
2. exception from ...1820-1830 .... rest.........
3. Lincoln, Civil War, Reconstruction.. (end of slavery and 14th Amendment)..attempt for equal rights ( 1860 -1875)
4 Progressive Era, (1900-1914 ) Food and Drug Laws, "The Jungle" Break Up of Corporations..National Parks. T Rooseve(capitalism is evil)
5. Franklin Roosevelt era..&quot 1933-1940)...Social Security, Workman's Comp. Minimum Wage Laws, Union Protection..
6 Kennedy-Johnson ..."the 60s"....Civil Rights Legislation, Medicare, War on Poverty. (end the Viet Nam war movent)
7...now....(first Afro American President).................. 2008 ---- till....???....Affordable Care Act, Gay Rights..etc........

call it what you want, revolution, change etc.
But......It is a pattern in our history, Social Change followed by Conservative Reaction.

It is our time for change. We must take advantage of it and do the most that we can do. No matter which of our candidates we nominate, we will win. But we must work to win and continue this era of change as long as possible... And please. let us get the most out of this positive pattern for all of our people. This period of history will end, and no one knows when or why. Let's keep it going as long as possible..

The Conservative cycle this time has been focused on rolling back many of the changes since FDR, tho....
very concerning.

4. Second Great Awakening

The Second Great Awakening was a Religious revival movement during the early 19th century in the United States. The movement began around 1790, gained momentum by 1800 and, after 1820, membership rose rapidly among Baptist and Methodist congregations whose preachers led the movement. It was past its peak by the late 1850s. The Second Great Awakening reflected Romanticism characterized by enthusiasm, emotion, and an appeal to the super-natural. It rejected the skeptical rationalism and deism of the Enlightenment.

The revivals enrolled millions of new members in existing evangelical denominations and led to the formation of new denominations. Many converts believed that the Awakening heralded a new millennial age. The Second Great Awakening stimulated the establishment of many reform movements designed to remedy the evils of society before the anticipated Second Coming of Jesus Christ.[1]

People at the time talked about the Awakening; historians named the Second Great Awakening in the context of the First Great Awakening of the 1730s and '40s and of the Third Great Awakening of the late 1850s to early 1900s. These revivals were part of a much larger Romantic religious movement that was sweeping across Europe at the time, mainly throughout England, Scotland, and Germany.[2]
