Republican debate viewership has dropped by 10 million people since the first GOP presidential debate, and more Americans watched the Democratic debate on CNN than watched the Republican debate on CNBC.

It would have had the same effect if the Democratic debate had been on MSNBC, a higher teir channel on many cable providers.

make outrageous statements or cause any fireworks, the next one will be even worse. However, I suspect the next Dem debate will also have lower ratings. Curiosity was the main incentive to watch both "firsts". Now folks will wait for the main event when it's for real - like next August.
