Domestic violence survivor needs help (GoFundMe campaign)

Mods: I hope this is appropriate for GD, as I'd really like her to get the fresh start she needs. Please PM me if you have any feedback. Thank you.

After a year of Domestic Abuse, isolation, & no access to medical care I got out!

Disabled, I have spent 6 months jumping from shelter, to hotels and sofa surfing surfing, waiting for a viable option for permenant housing. I am approximately 6 weeks from an affordable apartment, located in a different community than my abuser.

Because of the extended time I spent (literally) as a prisoner with my abuser, I have had to do a great deal playing "catch-up" with Dr's appointments, Rx's, plus basics like clothes, toiletries & the like while trying to keep a roof over my head & food in my tummy--all of this on a monthly net income of .approximately $800.

I am blessed for simple sake of being alive, and also being so close to my "goal" of attaining safe housing for myself & my service animal, Bella.

Around the 1st of December, my apartment construction will be complete & ready for move-in. Down side to this is that I have other things that must be purchased before I can "be on my own"-- living safely & independently.

My eyesight is abyssmal. If I can't *feel* my glasses, I usually have to ask for help finding them . Knowing this, my abuser *accidently'* stepped on my only pair of glasses, breaking the frames & one of the lenses. The Rx was over 4 years old, so they weren't great, but I could see.

I have been able to get an eye exam @ WalMart & picked out an inexpensive set of frames frames, thinking this would be an affordable route. Good thought, except that due to my Rx, the lenses knocked the price up close to $500. I paid down on them, but still owe just short of $400.

Other Items I am in dire need of, is a CLEAN, bed bug free, Queen size mattress & box Spring set. Abuser moved us into vermin infested apartment, causing everything to be infested. I have a solid wood bedframe, but did not bring bedding, sofa, chair etc. I can wait on sofa, but due to disabilities, cannot sleep ( or get up) off floor. I also have deposits for utilities, and start-up groceries that need to be acquired, before I can put down roots.

My plans are to get a part-time job once I am moved in & settled, to help save for a descent car.

Additionally, I will have to find a dentist to work with me. I have caps & crowns that were damaged by my abuser & need work done so I can smile again. This will help me find a better part time job, and I will not feel so self conscious.

I know this is a lot. And I know there are folks in a lot worse shape then me. But I am relatively young, 56, and educated. I have things I can give back in the world, if I can just get on my feet, and use the brain God gave me, and the education I worked so hard to get. I know I can contribute to society again.
