Britain's RW UKIP will attack Labour as anti-military and monarchy in election

Ukip to target Jeremy Corbyn's 'disdain for monarchy and military' in by-election battle

Sources tell Telegraph that Mr Corbyn will be repeatedly characterised as unpatriotic in a bid to win over working class Labour supporters

UKIP is planning to relentlessly target Jeremy Corbyn’s “disdain for the monarchy and the military” in a by-election vote triggered by the death of a veteran Labour MP.

Senior campaign sources have told The Telegraph that the party is preparing to go “hell for leather” as it attacks the Labour leader for being at odds with the values of working class voters.

Despite Labour winning the seat by more than 14,000 votes in May, Ukip believe they can secure a shock victory by attracting working class men and women from their rivals.

To do so, they are planning to zone in on Mr Corbyn’s lukewarm support of the monarchy and the military to paint him as unpatriotic.
“The Corbynite position is an Islington, university, 1970s-Left perspective, especially with Seumas Milne [Labour’s new communications director] and Andrew Fisher [Mr Corbyn's policy adviser] being hired,” one Ukip source said. “His disdain for the monarchy and the military and his willingness to see the Falklands be given to the Argentina will be targeted. These are not traditional, Northern Labour values and will put people off.”

That sounds like a 'republican' campaign tactic used against liberal Democrats. I suppose conservatives everywhere use the same "patriotism" angle to get voters to vote against their own interests.
