The second time, a president gets elected or defeated on their own merits; she gets no credit for 2012.

She has no accomplishments and a record of failure. Fire her now please for the love of God before she finds a way to lose in 2016.

...which is one of her major responsibilities"...

That, I'm afraid, is the key point to it all.

No doubt about it, the party needs to raise colossal amounts of money in order to succeed. But surely, a lot of that money must come with strings attached. Or steel cables. Or anchor chains. Therein lies the problem, and the obstacle to success.

I haven't any instant solutions to offer, but I think we can see the problem quite clearly.

I'm not sure why, but people always blame the president for congressional and state losses in off-year elections. Remember when Obama came on TV and apologized to Democrats for the "shellacking?" Was he the architect of our party's strategy? I don't think so. And it's clear he is not in lockstep with the party this time, so let's see if we blame our losses on him. The Republicans will certainly call this a big rejection of his policies, but what will we say? Oh, I know... He needs to be more like a Republican. Hey, I have an idea. Let's invade someplace! That always cheers people up.

It's not up to the voters to line up and vote.
It's up to the politicians to get the voters to line up and vote.

That's why the Republicans throw all sorts of red meat to their base. To get them to the polls.

Instead, we whine about how awful our voters are for being "unrealistic" and then whine more when our voters don't feel motivated.

and inspired to get out and vote. Forget the corporate mainstream media that supports the status quo establishment. Republican Light and Apathy isn't working.

We absolutely need a POLITICAL AWAKENING and REVOLUTION to try to keep this country from going back to the 1920s, and the 1890s which is what the GOP aims. Too scary.

Tim Kaine was DNC chair when the 2010 midterms were lost. I pay fairly close attention to politics and I don't recall anybody at that time making an issue about those midterms setting the stage for redistricting. Somebody's fucking hair should have been on fire warning voters that should Republicans win those midterms their gerrymandering could change the political landscape for a decade or more, and that Republican bigots were going to turn out in droves to vote against Obama even though he wasn't running.

And then those icky voters would expect Democrats to actually do something. The donors wouldn't like that.

Much better to return to "gridlock" where Republicans manage to advance their causes while Democrats say "oh, nothing can be done". That keeps the donors happy.

As much of an ass that Reince Priebus is for stopping his party's partnership with NBC for debates after the spat with CNBC moderators, at least he stands up for his side. What has Debbie stood up for besides being an easy going, soft figurehead? And where did the "50 state" strategy go? Used to be that Democrats could at least win governorships or senate seats in states that vote Republicans for president...now the (D) governors and senators only win in solid blue states!

Run out of coffee or something? Still too early? Smile, 2016 is coming and we are going to kick them out in the general. And the general in 2020 means we control and undo the gerrymandering. Brace yourself for a lot of victory ahead.
