(19,326 posts)as there is no way to comment on it, like
I am doing now with your post.
Interesting stuff though. It does make a
certain amount of sense. JFK, MLK, RFK,
murders were all monumental shifts to the
dark side, from which we still have not
recovered. Instead the Coup is raping
America for all it's worth, monitarily, as
well as rendering Constitution meaningless.

(62,444 posts)But I remember when there were a lot of tinfoil hat conspiracies about how it was being used to lock people up in FEMA camps.
Perhaps you might point to something which called it a "tinfoil hat conspiracy theory".

(55,745 posts)I do remember how US Senator Frank Church saw the implication of CIA domestic operations and the NSA using its technology in violation of its charter to spy on Americans.
That capability at any time could be turned around on the American people and no American would have any privacy left, such is the capability to monitor everything: telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesnt matter. There would be no place to hide. If this government ever became a tyranny, if a dictator ever took charge in this country, the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back, because the most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government, no matter how privately it was done, is within the reach of the government to know. Such is the capability of this technology.
I dont want to see this country ever go across the bridge. I know the capability that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see it that this agency and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision, so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return. -- Frank Church, 1975
Gee. That foreshadowed all the domestic full-spectrum domestic spying operations to come.
Oh. Almost forgot: Something that is no theory: The ONE and ONLY Telcom executive to oppose the illegal surveillance got railroaded on insider trading -- the very same law that all the Wall Street insiders and their toadies on Capitol Hill somehow circumvent. What a coincidence!

(62,444 posts)Specifically, when was the time that Echelon was dismissed as a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory.
I guess you don't know either.

(55,745 posts)Sorry, I don't remember what you implied before your clarification.

(62,444 posts)The subject line of the OP is:
"Remember the time when ECHELON was just a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory?"
Would you care to identify, even in your thread, where "ECHELON" is dismissed as "just a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory"?
