So Rahm Emanuel was more worried about his political campaign than the murder of a 17 yo

kid armed with a pocket knife?

Tell me this isn't so, please.

Shot 16...SIXTEEN TIMES?!!! Video hidden for a year?

My God seems to me that murderous cop isn't the only guilty one here.

What's the saying about the company you keep?

This must stop.

They won't even give us a chance to breathe between one murder-by-cop and the next.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-emanuel-fetal-police-met-20151012-story.html

"We have allowed our Police Department to get fetal, and it is having a direct consequence. They have pulled back from the ability to interdict … they don't want to be a news story themselves, they don't want their career ended early, and it's having an impact," Emanuel said, according to the Washington Post.

On Monday, Emanuel pointed to that tentativeness as one of the causes of an increase in crime here this year. "What happened post-Baltimore, what happened post-Ferguson is having an impact," Emanuel said. "And I still believe recent events over the last year or 18 months have had an impact. And officers will tell you that. And I tried to speak up for the good officers that are doing community policing that make up the men and women of the Chicago Police Department."

"Officers themselves are telling me about how the news over the last 15 months impacted their instincts: Do they stop or do they keep driving?" Emanuel said at an unrelated news conference. "When I stop here, is it going to be my career on the line? And that's an honest conversation. And all of us who want officers to be proactive, to be able to do community policing in a proactive way, have to encourage them, so it's not their job on the line or that judgment call all the time that if they stop, this could be a career-ender."

Good cops this, good cops that. What about the bad ones, the murdering ones? Cops having to had to curb their instincts due to what happened in Ferguson. What instincts, killer instincts? We've allowed our police to become fetal? What exactly does that mean that?

Apologies to anyone reading my thread. I am just so incredible emotional about all of this and feel deep inside that nothing will change anytime soon.

Both his office's lawyer and the City Council approved the $5M payoff to McDonald's family... a settlement offered before the family even brought suit. He didn't want this damaging his re-election chances. I absolutely believe he was well aware of all aspects of this case. What a cynical mother fucker.

What is he supposed to do go down to the prosecutors office to tell them what to do? It takes time to build a homicide case.

can be laid at the feet of Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago PD. If the city is failing, it's because Rahm is failing. He needs to own it.

to police. Human beings can only hold it together for so long.

So they best step on it and don't take nearly as long as the release of that damning video.

The victim was on the ground and the officer kept shooting for another 13 seconds. If that were a black cop shooting a white man in cold blood like that the "investigation" would have been over in 24 hours. There's video from the dash cam AND the cops came in and confiscated the Burger King video BEFORE the investigation even started. There needs to be an investigation alright but it needs to be by the justice department.
