I find it troubling that MSNBC and CNN have Trump so many times on TV, is this

good reporting or not? Why not let Fox News air him? Gosh, am sick of Trump being on TV!

Trump is so divisive, bigoted and racist and the two TV stations that most people watch have him on all the time, spouting his bull shit non-stop. Is there a TV station that is pro-democratic or is only DU you can get some solace from like minded DUers who dislike that trump guy as much as we disliked Sarah Palin?

7. You know Skittles, I never thought the media was complicit but now I know better!

Those two stations have reporters, except for Rachel, make me sick. Sometimes I like Chris Matthews, Don Lennon, Anderson Cooper, but I cannot understand why they are covering that bigot trump so often. In my opinion, let Rush and Fox cover him.

It is reprehensible how CNN and MSNBC are stifling Mr. Sanders. Seems as though Progressive Liberals in the US are getting shut down because the media is telling the world that Mrs. Clinton is already crowned. Americans need to get their voices heard and not through the media!

10. That was my earlier question, why is CNN and MSNBC crowing after trump?

Then they ignore Mr. Sanders who is gaining momentum but we never get to see how he connects to people of colour. He does, Mr. Sanders was right there with Martin Luther King during the civil rights movement and I have no idea why he does not say how involved he was.

3. "The two TV stations most people watch have him on all the time."

There you have it, if people would stop watching then they wouldn't put Trump on.

The fact is Trump attracts eyeballs and TV is in the eyeball business.

I am gross and perverted
Im obsessed n deranged
I have existed for years
But very little has changed
I am the tool of the government
And industry too
For I am destined to rule
And regulate you

I may be vile and pernicious
But you can't look away
I make you think Im delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin out
From your tv set

You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don't need you
Don't got for help...no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold

That's right, folks..
Don't touch that dial

Well, I am the slime from your video
Oozin along on your livinroom floor

I am the slime from your video
Cant stop the slime, people, lookit me go

our PM at the airport meeting the Syrian people who coming to Canada to reside. Brought tears to my eyes.

Canada did not partake in the invasion of Iraq and yet our young PM is there to deliver on his promises to the Syrian refugees. We still have hope but when you see 35% of Americans agreeing with trump, it makes you wonder how bigoted those people are!

13. ratings should not absolve a nation for being compassionate, especially when

this situation of Syrian refugees could have been avoided if only the West had left the Middle East alone without invasion. No one wants to take responsibility for the atrocities in the Middle East, but now the power that be do not want to take in the people they displaced by their mis-placed interventions.

These networks have never had ratings like this especially MSNBC which probably would shut down if they continued. They are so below the rest of the network other ratings. They needed to do something drastic and trump came along.

14. Ron, Trump is a bigot and a racist and he is appealing to the lowest

denomination in America and that is why they are supporting him. Apart from Native Americans, every other person is an immigrant and your foreparents made America what it is. To see a bigot on the world stage saying he will make America better is only showing the world what an asshole he is. He is not making America better, he is making the world shun America.

What really makes me mad is that all his conservatives runner is not saying a word against him.

I really hope that if Mrs. Clinton is the Dem nominee, voters will vote for her. To be honest, I really like Mr. Sanders and I am hoping he will be the nominee. I want America to tell the rethugs, your days are over. Look at their line-up, they all suck!

48. Of course; we're divided and conquered.

Every progressive group (health care, environment, Move to Amend, social justice, etc.) is isolated and struggling in its little "silo" of fundraising, seeking support and influence, while the club who meet in Davos are united in their strength. Through this club's control of media, the multitudes NOT engaged in progressive groups are kept numb and dumb with Trump. Or with Celebrity Dancing.
Perhaps the failure of hard-working people to use their limited free time in a more effective way doesn't justify calling them "morons." But given the mounting and widespread evidence that the whole country is being hoodwinked, by politicians from Hillary Clinton all the way to the Repubs, the collective effect is that we are all participating in moronic behavior.

Why do we have to listen to CNN and MSNBC all the time to get news on Bernie Sanders et all. Actually, they cover trump all the time and give no coverage to Bernie. Which I find very sad. Mrs. Clinton seems to think she is inevitable but I hope she is not twinner. However, if Mr. Sanders does not make it to the nomination and it is trump and Mrs. Clinton, Americans will have to vote for her.

A Dem in the White House is 100% better than a frigging republican. Do not forget, the supreme court. I wish you all can impeach that scalia guy. Harry Reid says it best (paraphrasing), Scalia is a fucker in a white hood!

The media is facilitating trump and he knows it and he is playing them. I wish CNN or MSNBC can take the time to cover one Bernie's rally. The media is obscuring him and I feel you all have a right to speak up, do not stifle him, Mrs. Cllinton is already annointed and the media has her covered.

Am so sorry my friends in America, I dislike Mrs. Clinton with a passion. Personally, she has no clue how hard it is for the working class, all she cares about is the middle class and wall street and she belongs to the higher class. I feel that Mr. Sanders understands what it is to be poor and disenfranchised.

Plus, has any other person ran twice for the Presidency and won? Mrs. Clinton is not America's option unless Mr. Sanders does not get the nomination!

I approve of all the Trump coverage. Because I believe that US citizens will be repulsed by his rhetoric. And in case people haven't noticed, he is not getting favorable press, not even by Billo on Faux.

Let them eat their own. Always a good strategy. If one can encourage that, all the better.

It's not about what's right, it's about the money.

Then, the media would invest heavily in the MIC to be best positioned to reap maximum gains, while still paying off politicians to ensure they won't have their news feeds shut off once the fascist state is built.

35. "the two TV stations that most people watch" ?!?! Where did you get that idea?

It's not the case. Even if you combine all the cable news/commentary outlets into one big number, that number is still smaller than the audience for any one of the three network newscasts. Yes. While political junkies on DU watch those cable outlets, most Americans never do. That is a fact.
318,000,000 Americans. Regular cable programming is lucky to get 3 million watching, very lucky. Most of the time they hover at and under one million, some of the shows DU thinks are 'popular' have just a few hundred thousand viewers. Last week The Wiz got 11.5 million. Morning Joe gets 400,000.
NBC Nightly News last week averaged 9.8 million viewers, CBS about 8.9 and ABC 8.3 million. It was SB shooting big news week. Fox had the big cable numbers with average 4 million viewers, CNN 3.14 million viewers. So we add Fox and CNN to get 7.14 million, a sum less than any single broadcast news show. Combined CNN and Fox don't even beat ABC.

So sure they have an audience but it is not 'most people' by any stretch.
