Just a little feel good moment before I call it a night!

Was wonderful to see our Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Mr. Justin Trudeau being at the airport to welcome the Syrian refugees, brought tears to my eyes. We all welcome the Syrians and we will do our best to make them settle in and feel welcome.

Was wonderful seeing our PM at the airport welcoming people as our own.

Just wanted to leave you all with that thought of humanity and empathy.

Good night and best regards

1. It's ok if you all do not relate to us Canadians, we have each other's

back! There are some DUers on here that I would really like to meet in person, they are so warm but that may not be possible.

Just throwing this out there, if anyone of you would like to visit BC, Canada and do not have any relatives here, I would love to have you to stay at my place. It is not five star and I do not cook, so there are your options, LOL. I have eggs and orange juice!

If we do not reach out to each other on here, am not sure whom else we can reach out too.

5. We were in Vancouver for the first time last August.

We loved it, may be back next year if time permits.

2. Here is the video if you would like to add it to your OP.

What a wonderfully different response to the Syrian refugee crisis than what we are experiencing here in the US! I hope that people here will eventually follow Canada's lead by welcoming these poor people who have been through SO much.

3. Maybe we'll get it through osmosis.

You must be thrilled to have such a compassionate, progressive leader. I am truly worried about my country, the USA ~ we seem to have lost our way, or more to the point, never found the right path from our very beginning. I will have to say that in my 70+ years, I have never seen such animosity toward each other, not to mention 'them dadblamed furiners'. If I had the funds, I would move to Canada in a heart beat.

6. Thank you much for sharing the good moment!

This is my first time on DU. I was inspired to join so I could encourage other DUers to post good news and not just the awful stuff.
There is no way to avoid knowing the terrible things that are happening but it is hard to find encouragement. More like this please!
Keeps up our spirits!

8. Thank you for the good thought of humanity & empathy.

Prime Minister Trudeau is a good man.

Thank you for the offer to visit in BC. I've been there in the past and loved it. I will let you know if I visit there again. Best regards.

9. Was in BC a few years ago and loved it.

Vancouver is a city I would love to live in. Unfortunately, like all major cities it is a bit expensive for me even just as a wish. Stanley Park is to die for! The drive up to Whistler in the fall was very scenic and beautiful. Also just loved Victoria. Just a beautiful country and found the people to be very welcoming. I hope to return someday.
