the death star was made to kill entire worlds, as the good people of Alderaan could tell you. What is striking is, after Leia reveals the info they wanted, the empire decides to nuke alderaan just for shits and giggles aka "shock and awe".

Before you laugh, ask yourself this, do you think the people on the Death Star ignored a planet being blown up? Yes the babies were innocent, but could you taken them away from their parents that were probably there because the Empire put them there?
