In less than 30 days, actual votes will finally trump the polls in one of the most unpredictable presidential races in recent memory, marked in large part by the sudden rise of a brash-talking political phenomenon known as The Donald.

For Trump, the days of using his front-runner status in national polls to figuratively beat his chest at campaign rallies and on social media are coming to an end.

Soon, the polls will be replaced by actual vote tallies.

The Iowa caucuses on Feb. 1 pose enormous risks for both Trump’s personal brand and his political future, but there also is a chance of substantial reward and validation for a campaign that some have argued is more sound and fury than substance.
