The majority of folk out in that part of the state are conservative in their politics, but there is nowhere near any sort of consensus among them on public land, the BLM, etc. Yeah, some of the ranchers get their panties in a twist over any regulation of their "right" to do whatever the fuck they want with their cattle. But I'd bet there are a lot more locals who either work for the BLM/Forest Service or make their living selling goods or services to those agencies.
